  • actually $995 AUD using xe conversion

  • The vaio Pro 13 is superior and cheaper option for some at $800 refurbished

    • Superior as in different?

Vaio Pro doesn't have a 360 degree hinge or a stylus digitiser. It is light and thin as crispbread though.

EDIT: Actually this particular model doesn't come with the digitiser or stylus. So not sure if this is a good deal.

Perhaps if you like the ThinkPad esque build quality and the 360 degree hinge. But for a few hundred more I would shell out for the digitiser/stylus combo (unless you have no intention whatsoever of using it).

      • ThinkPad esque build quality

Lolno. Nothing in common with the bank vault Thinkpads of yesteryear. I guess that means it has a screen that won't make your eyes bleed so not all bad.

      • I mean its a lot lighter (1kg vs 1.6kg) , has a ssd that hits nearly 1gb/sec which is twice the speed of regular sdd, bigger screen, cheaper with local warranty and the rest of the specs are same

  • +1

Theres one on special in the US at the moment that is a whole lot better (although may require a freight forwarder)

    13.3" QHD+ LED Glossy Multi-touch with integrated camera (3200x1800)
    256GB SSD

US$899 plus free shipping (list price $1,399.99 | use coupon code USPY2P37116)

    • That one is a retail product where the deal listed is the Thinkpad Yoga, so it is a business version and better quality, but the extra RAM and hard drive space in the one you listed would probably end up providing a better experience overall.

I have a 4GB RAM 128GB SSD Sony Vaio and the hard drive and RAM are constantly full….the SSD means that caching isn't sooo bad for performance, but 8GB RAM is a must have these days.

    • More than likely slugged with GST and import duty at this price.

    • horrible exchange rate would put that to ~$1030 easily. Unless you got a freight forwarder that's willing to fudge up the declared price, no deal.

    • Yoga Pro 2 has terrible resolution since windows cannot scale and websites appear rendered very poorly
go into harvey norman and see for yourself

  • This or surface pro 2 256gb for $988?

    • Would be the Surface Pro 2 for me, kinda need the digitiser
