These have a different best before date

      • I noted that in the other post even before this was deal posted:
"Zero Sydney 11 hours 39 min ago
As it now posted on the website, it states:
“Best Before October 2009.” (so newer then the last lot (not buy much though)."

        This deal:
        "pnks 11 hours 24 min ago (www.1-day.com.au)"

        • Congratulations.

  • Plus P&H (as no pickups):
    “Shipping Category
    Price
    Order Total up to $80
    A$5.99”

Which seems pretty reasonable. What do you expect? Free delivery?
You have got to be kidding.

I never said that there should be free shipping. Where did I say that?

The title nor the description NEVER had the postage orginally and P&H is MANDATORY as its not possible to pick the item up, so postage is an integral part of the price in this case and SHOULD have been included as otherwise the price seems misleading (its double price that was mentioned ($5.99 for the item and $5.99 for the P&H)).

"mod added reference that there is also a postage charge
        Mod - edited title."

"Limit of 1 pack per customer." so no combined or discounted P&H.

As per the Title Guidelines (see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:title_guidelines)

        "Titles should state:-

        3. Shipping cost. Exact cost or approximate range."
        (my bolding)

This was also in the old posting guide also.

People often don't put the P&H charge in at all.

        • my bad

I brought 12 bars last time and they seem pretty damn good. I use them for cooking with, but they are good to eat as well.

    mmmmm - chocolate ;)

  • I hate 1-Day.

They had a mystery item day, where for $10 + $7 shipping they would send me some mystery item, worth a minimum of $10, but probably worth much much more.

    Well what did i get?

6 Cadbury 50g triple decker bars (top deck + strawberry). Which had a best before date of the 19th, and i got the package on the 17th (of that month). They were obviously not advertised as due to expire like this offer, cause it was a mystery item.
If i had gone to coles i could have gotten 6 chocolate bars for as little as $6 on special, and they would be past their best before date in 2 days time.
I think at $1.67, 6 chocolate bars equals $10, so technically they sent me something worth $10, even though i paid $17. What a dirty bunch of bastards.
I've seen chocolate bars in supermarkets that are due to reach their best before, and they are marked down to like 50c each. So essentially, i only got $3 worth for my $17.

    I hate 1-Day. :(

    • I always hate those 'mystery' or 'random' items. It is always in the best interest of the retailer and you never get a bargain!

      • I got one from Catch of the Day, and it was pretty good. Decent value, heaps of things, i was happy.

    • I think it's the same for every site. "Mystery item" is a way for them to get rid of items that are not selling well. (Or items they are trying to dispose off)

Best before date has nothing to do with when the product expires.

After the 19th the chocolate was still perfectly safe to eat.

I wrote "best before date" every time in my post, and once i got lazy and wrote "expire" and someone says something… geez, you can see i know the difference.

        • Last time this offer came around the chocolate had already past its best before date and people complained that the chocolate had expired and would be unsafe to eat.
When you said due to expire i figured you were treating it like milk and thinking it was unsafe to consume.

    I bought the Mossimo shirt!

    • ME TOO,HAHA

      • I nearly bought one too, they didn't have my size.

  • I saw this earlier and almost bought it… then thought better of it… Last thing I (or most ppl???) need is 2.64kg of chocolate!

  • Got some last time

It was nice, but I would be lucky to eat a block a month

Just brought another lot for a friend, who will probably eat a block a week

  • Hmm I have now bought the chocolate as well in a separate order…

I wonder if they will combine the two into one package and give me a credit for the difference?

  • How well does chocolate post?

  • for a $1 a bar posted I put an order in.

  • it is the second time i am buying chocky from them.
    first one was really nice.
hope they'll keep up with this.

  • yummmmm! I'm gonna turn them into rocky roads and other goodies!! :D

  • yeh i really dont need them but for 1 buck a block i cant say no

  • Mine came today - all the blocks have a best before date of 04/01/2010.

Very happy, just a shame I didnt order them at the same time as the Mossimo shirt and combine the postage.

  • mine came today also use by january 2010, good score

    • still waiting… do they just dump them in the letterbox or do you have to pick them up at the post office?

  • i picked mine up at the post office, but i live in the city

  • Cool, they attempted delivery yesterday but did not card it! - the 1-day live chat guys were good at sorting it out.

Edit : 30/09/09 got it today, nice chocolate indeed. I think I'll give a lot away, when it arrives your realise just how much 12 blocks weigh!. Best Before 04/01/10
