Shepherd's Pie and Lasagna 1kg $4.50 ('On The Menu' Brand) @ Coles

270

Family size (1kg) Shepherd's Pie and Lasagna for $4.50 at Coles, less than half price.

I thought it was a pretty cheap, quick meal (or dirty bulk feed).

Available nationwide.

Kudos! I could only manage half a family size for lunch.

    • We like it with some pizza-sauce mixed in; serves 4, if served w/ eg, frozen mixed veggies.

  • I've seen that but the 2kg one is $9.xx so I didn't feel like it's on special at all.

PS. the 2kg has a mark as everyday price.

Lol I'm buying it for me as a treat… true oz bargainers only drink water and eat plain bread

You can also feed it to your girlfriend if it's your turn to cook.

Bought these this week. They're actually pretty good.

    The shepherd's pie is great.

They also have the Potato Bake available which is also quite nice.

The same brand chicken parma meal is great. Good quality chicken!

Make your own of any of these coles specials - it's cheaper, tastier & far more nutricious.Unfortunately it does mean that you need to COOK the meal - not just reheat a frozen time saver whilst out at the pub or coffee shop.)(Looking forward to all the negs. from these comments - Ha Ha !! - :) )

Like other posters here I agree that the quality of the "On The Menu" brand meals is quite good. I much prefer their chicken parma and beef to McCain which I really can't stand anymore (they made some sort of change years ago). I keep a bunch in the freezer for those weeks I'm working odd hours or the wife's having a rough one with the kids. They're still frozen dinners so don't get too carried away but they're tasty. If you have the time to make fresh food from scratch it's no contest. If you don't have the skill or the time this stuff is nice.
