Toshiba Satellite E55 Core i5 15.6inch Full HD Ultrabook $699 + Delivery @ Shopping Express

TOY

I checked delivery and it would be $12.25 to Sydney Metro so $711.25 delivered.
Decent specs for this price. The only downer might be the 3 cell battery, but the 4200u processors are very efficient.

Installed with a Windows operating system, enjoy the flexibility of browsing the internet, accessing your latest documents and playing your favourite games.

  • Their normal prices was $799

  • 1080p is nice for a lot of people.

Though anything beyond basic photos and web will be a challenge with only a ULV cpu\gpu to do the work.

This isn't an ultrabook. 5400rpm disk and no touchscreen, it's just a laptop without an optical drive.

    • +2

Didn't realize an ultrabook needed a touch screen

      • +1

Since Haswell a touchscreen is a requirement for Ultrabooks, as well as a 3 second resume from hibernation.

        • Are touchscreens the way forward for an ultrabook? Maybe they are more handy then I give credit for. Can anyone comment on their use for your computer?

        • @flashi007:

I have a little 11" laptop which I assume is an ultrabook (but maybe too small…if I had my time again I would get a 13" though), and I find the touchscreen pretty useful, and the touchpad has gestures too, so I mostly use the touchpad, but I find myself using the touchscreen whenever I go into the metro ui in windows 8, and also sometimes when I just want to tap on a specific space on my screen when my cursor is over the other side of the screen and I don't currently have my finger on the touchpad.

      • I didn't know as well. Here's and article about it.I found it a bit confusing. Article dated January 8th 2013.

Yea I would have thought an ultrabook would weigh less than "4.7 lbs".

  • good choice if you don't need discrete graphics, as for 3 cell battery, not a negative as it's a 50Wh battery, with this cpu you should get long run times
