which amex has no annual fees or best card to get?

    • The wife has the CA amex which is no annual fee for life. I'd say thats the best!

  • What are peoples thoughts on Seagates for portable drives, compared to WD etc ?

    • +2

I dont have issue with them…

Just backup regulary and u have no worries no matter what brand..

also I think WD solder their drives to board so u can't take it out

  • +1

I was going to mention the Amex deal and then I looked at the postage on two drives and thought if you were using your 28 degrees card (like all Ozbargainers have) most of the savings would be eaten up in currency conversion on the Amex.

The real saving is when you purchase 2 as JB has them for $109

      JB 1TB - This 2TB

    • +2

      Except that's the 1TB version.

    • Ah.
      Good eyes guys.
      Was wondering who so cheap.
Stupid search function didnt work too well when i searched for 2tb

  • +6

For anyone wondering, you can pull out the drivebfrok the enclosure and use it to upgrade ps4 storage for cheap.

    • pro tip!

    • +2

Yup, that's what I did with mine. The case is well designed too that you don't have to destroy it to get the drive out and I just put the 500GB from the PS4 into it and snapped it all back down and it's perfect :)

    • When you took it out, did you notice if it was 5400 rpm or 7200?

      • +2

I just purchased one so I don't really know. However, the Amazon reviews on the page linked sites it's 5400RPM.

    • What about for a normal laptop?

Sorry I"m a noob at this. My current laptop 2.5'' hdd is busted, and I need to somehow clone it… or find a replacement. Maybe this Seagate can replace it?

  • Cheapest ever for this 2TB model. Good find, OP. I got one when it was USD$99.

  • Hi Guys.

Does anyone know how long (max) it will take to deliver to Sydney? My cousins from overseas been wanting a couple of these but they are flying off December 6th.

    • Could be lucky, but I wouldn't count on them arriving before then.

  • +1

That is an amazing deal for 2TB portable! Wow.
Local stores are still selling normal Seagate 1TB for $89 (same price for 1.5 years).

  • Thanks for nothing OP. Now I have YA2TBHDD.

  • can now install more games on my xbox one! finally!

  • 1 = $104.03 not $100

    2 = AUD 202.02

    • +1

check out using USD and use a 28 degree/bankwest no exchange fees card and it will amount ~AUD$100. Don't use Amazon internal exchange rate.

      • does bankwest debit card have no exchange fee?

        • not sure about debit card but definitely bankwest credit card. mine end up being charged AUD$100.44 :)

    • for me also its showed AUD $104.03

      • you have to select USD. Don't use Amazon's conversion. and pay with a CC with no exchange rate fees.

  • this is why I don't buy fragile things like hard drives online…
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2841817/Parcel-handl…

    • +1

and this is why I only buy from reliable companies such as Amazon, who wouldn't hesitate to either refund or resend an item if it was damaged in transit.

      • After the 2nd or 3rd one I believe you'll find they become less "reliable" about such things…

Actually I've never found the after-sales to be that outstanding, not bad, but not something to brag about either. You must be a very patient person. I'd rather wander down to MSY and come home with one right away. One that works and that I can return without drama.

Damn, I just made a purchase on Amazon.

FYI, if you have issues, the RMA isn't local. You will have to send this back to Amazon/USA to get it replaced.

Also, think this was special $99 at Dick Smith last week so you could snag local deals with local warranty again? YMMV of course.

    • Thanks. What about cost of sending it back? who covers that?

      • +1

You are responsible for the cost of sending back.

  • +1

Red is only $79.88 + Shipping $6.63 USD

    • = $86.51 as stated

  • Awesome price. Thanks OP.

  • Are these cases metal?

    • Yeah.

      • all metal or just the fronts?

also is the silver the only one that has brush metal effect?

        • Just found it is not all metal

          just the colour part
          and the back is plastic

also these metal are quite weak and easy to get dented
and easy to bend/damage if u take the case off to get the internal hard drive

  • if u open the case

u will mostly like damage or bend the metal part (color part) …

  • got mine today.it is damn slim.loved it.
package is so perfect. delivery is so fast, delivered 3 days before the expected date.
