This would be a good deal if 2Gb wasn't what people were taking out of their laptop each time they were upgrading. Correct me if I'm mistaken but 4Gb is the minimum you will get in a Macbook for a while, and that's 2x 2Gb sticks so there's almost no market for this (except people maybe with PCs who purchased a machine with only 2Gb and they did have a spare slot).

    • Yes you are right, 2GB is the minimum.

Its just really for people who want a really decent and fast ram module for their PC's - and how are on a budget.
I bought a mini PC and use a 2GB RAM module, and it works great.

Also for people who have a broken RAM in their mac. Its genuine so it will work the best in Mac's

      Thanks,
      Seb

  • +3

    Mention USED maybe in title???

    • Hi ,
The condition is new, as these have been taken out of new MacBooks that have just been opened, RAM replaced, then re-sealed for further sale.

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • +5

That still makes them used. As in previously placed into a computer. Doesnt matter if it was in there for 10 minutes or a month still the same thing

        • +8

Yeah I suppose there are different ways at looking at it.
I've tried to be clear in the description so everyone understands the situation before they purchase.

Since they have never been used, we have decided to advertise them as new. If any concerns, we will be happy to change it to used.

          Thanks,
          Seb

        • +9

I disagree (slightly), if the machines were never turned on, they were new, and if this was gutted from a new PC and never used, it's still new. It does say "new condition" too. If this were listed on eBay, it would easily have qualified as "New condition".

That being said OP - if it's new, is there a DOA/returns policy associated with it?

          Hi,

Thanks, Yes we include 1 years warrantee and 14-day full refund change of mind policy.

          Thanks,

  • Will this work in a Toshiba satellite laptop? Would be keen to add an extra 2gb in the extra ram slot. It already has 2gb ddr2 memory.

    • Hi,
      Yes it would.

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • +2

        No it will not work.
        These are DDR3L 1.35V
while his Toshiba is uses DDR2.

        • Oh Sorry,

I didn't see that. No it will not work.
Only if the empty slot is DDR3.

          Thanks,
          Seb

        • @SebNet: Sorry, the laptop is ddr3, not ddr2. It's my father's machine.
          It's a Toshiba Satellite C640.
The current ddr3 ram chip is running @ 533mhz. Will this be compatible? I don't mind if it runs at nominal speed just so long as it will work.

          Speccy excerpt :

          RAM 2.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-20)

        • @wolfenator87:

          Hi,
          Yes it will then.
If any issues. Send it back to us, and we can refund you. Return postage is <$1

          Thanks,
          Seb

        • @SebNet: Thanks I'll put the order thru now. Worst case scenario I'll purchase an additional chip so I have a matching set of ram sticks. Is this deal good until sold out?
Edit : Just bought 2 sticks because stock is <20 as at 3:40pm. I thought seller had over 500 of these?

    • +1

If your laptop has DDR2 it's highly unlikely this DDR3 module will work..

    • as long as you mean 'ddr3 memory' and it has an extra ram slot.

  • +3

If these are DDR3L modules they may work well in Intel NUCs. It might be pushing it for a HTPC, but it should still work with the N2820 reasonably well. Many other low memory applications it could be used for too.

    • Hi,

Thats exactly what I used it for. I bought a intel NUC and tried to save every penny. So I bought a $170 mini PC on eBay and used this 2GB ram with a 500GB hard drive. It is perfect for a HTPC with XBMC etc..

      Thanks,
      Seb

    • +1 this is ideal for building a low-cost NUC system.

  • +2

Also note that for these to work the laptop must support DDR3L 1.35V (Low Voltage Ram). In other words not all DDR3 ram are DDR3L

    • +2

Of note though, DDR3L is backwards compatible, so you can put DDR3L memory modules in any DDR3 slot.

      • But can the DDR3L and DDR3 memory be used interchangeably?
Man, I hate upgrading RAM. Such a pain in the ass and confusing as heck.

        • That I'm not sure on.. The fact is that the DDR3L simply runs @ 1.5V when in a DDR3 slot, so I'd assume it would work fine….

  • Would these work on a mac mini? (At the moment it has 2GB 1333 MHz DDR3)

    • +1

      Hi Yes they will.

They will also be faster as these are 1600mhz (as long as your mac mini supports those ram speeds - depending on year & model)

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • Thanks for the reply. Dont know if you know if it would support, but its a 2011 Mac mini and processor is 2.3GHZ Intel Core i5. You think it would work? And correct me if i am wrong but i would have to get 2 so they would be compatible with each other? (ie cant have one of the old ones and one of these new ones together)

        • +1

          Hi,
This RAM will definitely work with the Mac Mini then. It may also work with just 1 but can't guarantee, depends on the other RAM module.

          Thanks,
          Seb

        • @SebNet:

          Awesome ….much needed upgrade!

  • These should work in my qnap NAS will grab 2 as it would need a match pair. cheers

  • +3

It's cheap but have nothing to use it with. this irks me greatly.

    • mmmmm tasty ram chips.

    • +1

I'm not sure that I have either but bought a couple anyway. I'm sure I'll find something to put them in :-)

      • For the Intel nuc your planning on buying!!!

  • Great for recent Zotac Zbox as they have two slots but require 1.35V.

    • +1

      These are DDR3L 1.35V

  • I have no reason for these either but I think its a great offer all things considered..

  • Thanks. Bought 4 to upgrade the various MacBooks I have lying around.

  • out of stock

    • +2

We have over a thousand in stock, so they won't be out for a while.
      The website is now updated.

      Thanks,

  • Will this work for my 2008 macbook pro 2.4Ghz?

    • Hi,
      Yes it will.

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • What about a 2006 unibody macbook?

        • check to see if it uses DDR3 and if it does not then you have your answer

  • Appears to be sold out

  • will this work in macbook white unibody 2010?

    • Hi,
      Yes it will.

      Thanks,
      Seb

  • Thanks. Hope this will breathe new life into our old laptop.

  • Is it same as SO-DIMM DDR3 laptop memory?

    • Apparently backwards compatible with DDR3 according to earlier comments.

      • Ok then, gotta try one

  • Need a good deal on NUC celeron now to go with my impulse buying.

  • I have a mid-2010 iMac that states "Your Mac contains 4 memory slots, each of which accepts a 1333 MHz DDR3 memory module. 2 memory slots in use (2GB), 2 available." Will these work with my system?

    • Hi,
Yes they will. You can fit another 2.

However, since they are 1600mhz (faster than your machine will take) they will be slowed to 1333mhz

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • Great, that was what I was hoping. As long as slowing them doesn't damage or have a negative impact on my machine, I might have to go order a couple I think!

  • Thanks, just purchased two. If I may ask, when should I except to receive the RAMs (I am based in Newcastle)?

    • Hi, They will be sent within 3 days, and should take another few days after that with AusPost.

      Thanks,
      Seb

  • Do you have any good deal on 4GB ram for macbook pro 2011?

  • Anybody know how many of these I can stack for my late 2008 Macbook Pro? 2 max i'm guessing?

  • Hi, will they work with mac mini 2010 model? I want to buy 2 of them

    • Hi,
      Yes they will.

      Thanks,
      Seb

      • Do you have any i3, i5,i7 Socket BGA1288/G1 laptop CPUs selling cheap?

  • Hi Seb, have sent email but have not had reply yet enquiring about price on 8-10 units, please advise price. Thanks!

(Edit - just noticed not as much time had passed as I had thought! Sorry!)

    • +1

      me too

    • +2

In the descriptions it does say these are left overs from when they swapped 2GB for 4GB. So I'd say no… no 4GB for sale

  • Hi,

Will you provide tax invoice? May need them to claim the money from my office. Thanks

    • +2

      Hi,
      Yes we can on request.

      Thanks,
      Seb

    • Depends how many you ordered, for amount less than $82.50 and you have other documents like receipt sent from Paypal, no tax invoice is required from ATO.

  • Bought 2 for my Thinkpad E440. Thinking the other way around to free its original 4G for a new laptop. Will update once received and tested.

  • Brilliant thanks for this.
    I have a 2009 17" macbook pro 5,2

Will this chip work in that?

Had 2 x 4GB chips and one died so figure 6GB would be better than 4, and at this price way cheaper than 8!

  • Hi Seb, is there still an additional discount for buying four of them? Thanks

  • +1

For everyones information, Seb has just let me know that he will not be offering any discounts on the sticks as he had indicated in his first post due to high demand. Still a cheap price, but a bit poor form if you ask me :(.

    • He could have offered $0.01 discount and kept his word haha

      • Still, pretty poor form telling people that they'd get a discount for ordering in quantity, then deciding that they're not going to do it when they find out there is a demand for the product. Bit of used car salesman like tactics.

  • hi Seb, the orders have been shipped out yet?

    • I'm still waiting for shipment notification too :(

  • no notification here either pretty sure was one the first few orders

    • I received order confirmation by email from the merchant almost immediately after paying with PayPal. I would try to follow this up to confirm your order has indeed been received and is being processed.

  • +1

not talking about order confirmations we are all wondering where they are with shipments or if any have gone out.

    • Just received my 2*2GB ram. Took a week but eventually arrived.

  • yes spoke to soon received mine today also so don't expect any shipment confirmation.

Works fine in my QNAP TS-853 Pro.

    • It worked in my toshiba laptop but I had to put the chip back to front (reverse) to fit and it would only read one module in tandem with the original 2gb module pre-installed. Wierd.
