  • Thank god there is a pickup option… shipping has gone up a dollar.

I was just about to say the same thing.
It's just Dick, being a Dick.

    • Funny I can't seem to find a click and collect option?

Edit: confirming it's not available for chocolate AAA

Edit 2: but delivery to Adelaide Metro was calculated as free so all good ;)

Edit 3: except it wasn't, 6 bucks no thanks.

      • +1

        3-4 months ago!!!

  • Looooopys must resist

  • Because Eneloops!

All Melbourne stores are out of the AA Chocolate and the AAA are marked as online-only.

  • Sold out almost everywhere around SYD or am i doing it wrong?

  • +1

I remember when Eneloop specials were all the rage, uniting oz-b'ers from all around the country and lavishing praise on the OP who found and shared it …nowadays, it seems to come all too often and after the $2.something special price 'bug' from COTD for these, $14.98 just doesn't look like a big bargain anymore

    • Yeah the excitement has gone since we were all able to buy the Smart Charger cheap a week ago :)

Now I am fully set-up with my Eneloops. Never need to buy another AAA or AA Alkaline battery again.

      • Anymore smart charger deals on now? I missed out on the last one

        • Not at DS at the moment.

You need to be quick when they discount it.

  • Why the tropical is more expensive?

    • the chocolates are not made in Japan…iirc it's made in China and may be of lesser quality according to an article that was posted on previous deals..

      • The Tropicals are also made in China - the product info and pic is incorrect.

  • Can we have some special on Eneloop XX http://www.dicksmith.com.au/batteries/eneloop-xx-aa-recharge… ?

    • why you wanna buy XX if I may ask !!

OK itt does have a higher mAh rating (2550 vs 2000), but cycle life is short (500 vs 2100 times).
      & less capacity retention.
So doesn't make much sense unless you are buying for a battery hungry toys for kids.
      Just food for thought.

      • In my case they would be perfect for power hungry devices with casual use. Hiking GPS, Portable radio/scanner. Not used every day bet when you need them you want to know that they hold a good charge even if they are used once a month. In saying that - if you need/charge these devices 10-20-30 times a year…they will last for ages.

  • How often do the chargers go on sale?

And why is the Tropical one more expensive as Panasonic ones are a newer generations?

  • Whatever happened to that Dick Smith rep?

    • +2

Dick smith rep is probably still trying to sort out the $10 for $5 gift cards they he hasn't delivered yet.

  • isn't this a dupe of
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/170902

as it never actually ended…. even though it said ended today?

    • It's the Dick Smith way of doin things …

  • None in stock within cooey of my suburb.. have about 8 stores near me.. all out of stock.. typical ds.
