British Paints Low Sheen Interior 4L at Bunnings $17.50

190

I have been doing some painting at home and this is the best price for good paint I've found. It isn't watered down and gives good 16m2 per 4lt coverage. The 10lt tin is $90 so is twice the price. British paints is part of the dulux group. Some stores do not have it and the ones that do usually hide it on the top shelf. I think its just there at this price for the masters paint war. Way better than the spring brand of paint I think. I have used 3 tins of the stuff and I cant tell the difference between this and $50 a tin dulux.

  • Sorry I meant to say I can't tell the difference between this and higher spec dulux paint

"Trust British Paints, sure can!" cough

      It's spelt "colours" in Australia.

Pretty sure it's spelt culas in Straya mate.

  • http://summitcoatingspainters.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/taubma… 5th of 20 tested but it was only a Choice test, may have been a different paint/formulation, and the test was 3 years ago.

Seems a very low price for a decent paint.

  • thanks OP , will grab one later today, perfect timing as I am planning to paint our walls

  • They need a new Brand Ambassador

Maybe Phoenix or Dom are available?

  • Just picked 2x4l from O'connor WA - they are up in the shelving in the British Paints section.

    • many left?

Great paint, usually $39 for the 4L but have been reduced to compete with the Masters Pascal variety. This is the same as the regular British Paints however doesn't have Anti-Mould and Self-Priming properties like the $55 British can. It's an awesome price and can be tinted to any British, Dulux and the majority of all other brands colours such as (Taubmans, Wattyl, Pascal, Bristol etc) Just ask first though. Heaps better then Spring which I wouldn't even paint my dog house with.

Note: there is also a 4L can of "Enrich Exterior Deck and Timber Oil" that's been reduced to $19.99 because of Masters too. It's "ok" but only if your selling/cheap jobs.

  • Thanks, picked up 24l (4 x 6l) for $105 tonight.

The Bunnings I went to keeps it in the trade paint area not with the regular paint or the 6l versions. They were out so they matched the per litre price on the 6l (would have also done it on the 10l ones as well.

Won't get a chance to use it for a week or so.

  • Still on the website, but I tried to get some and "sold out".
I ended up getting the "Spring" - same price, not the same quality, but just for a spare bedroom, and they tint it to order, unlike Masters' Pascol.
Will be interesting to see how it is.

I recommend asking for mis-tints at your local paint shop. Mine often has a reasonable selection at $4/l.

  • You'll have to hunt around for this. Bought 12 cans so far, but had to ring around to find shops with stock.

  • Got some from Bunnings Underwood QLD. Maybe still had 10 or so tins left on the shelf from what I saw.
