        That doesn't look like very good feedback, but maybe they are 'one off' cases..

        How does this compare to Auspost's 20% (or w/e) off?

          i think there were a couple of users there with the experiences…

          iirc i dont think auspost offers consolidation, that's not a good way to save unless you are just shipping big items individually.

          i am looking for a good forwarder myself… was using myus for a few years but was not happy with their recent performance.

      I left a detailed description of my first (and most definitely last) dealings with BoxHop on the previous thread (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171207 - see posts at the bottom, including a photo of their terrible packing effort).

      The "lowlights" of the transaction were:

      1. Their customer service has been amongst the worst I've experienced, particularly with emails, and when you're dealing with an overseas agency, this is pretty important.

      2. The final charge to my credit card was 50% higher than the quote given to me at the checkout stage (even up to 15% without contacting the customer might be acceptable, but 50%?!?), so beware.

      3. They sent a flimsy box which was more than 2/3's empty! There was no attempt made to follow their own guidelines of reducing dimensional weight.

      4. They could not ship me an external battery pack for charging phones/tablets etc. because it contains a lithium battery, when their provider DHL will ship lithium batteries, other parcel forwarders such as Shipitto will ship lithium batteries, other mail providers such as USPS ship lithium batteries and I even sent them DHL's 2014 regulations for shipping lithium batteries.

      5. They still have not shipped the external batteries to my friend domestically after almost 3 weeks, and have provided no working tracking number.

      6. They have not answered my latest emails for 3 days now, yet they seem to find time to post yet another bargain on here.

      Buyer beware with this group. I won't be using them again regardless of what specials they might post.

    I've used BoxHop for several orders now and have been very happy. Fast, well packed and all charges have been correct. I've saved a Tonne on shipping. Couldn't be happier.
