In the post-war, pre-Beatles London suburbs, a bright schoolgirl is torn between studying for a place at Oxford and the rather more exciting alternative offered to her by a charismatic older man.

An Education won the Audience Choice award and the Cinematography award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

  I wonder what the producers are going to get from this movie..after the amount of free shows they have shown for this movie..

    It's a really good movie, and i think they hope that people who have watched it will spread the word.

    Anyway, it's a BBC production, therefore is heavily subsidized by the British Government, and therefore there is no need for the film to make a profit actually.
