Great deal. Their shipping normally kills my desire to purchase.

Yeap. I wanted to buy a backpack and the bag cost 20 and the shipping is 27. Gonna buy some heavy shit just to benefit from the free shipping

    Meh…free ship plus 30% off and I'm in for $200 purchase…

    • What 30% off?

      edit: nvm, i found it.

Neggers you are welcome to buy now but just like last year if you wait a few more weeks they will likely offer BOTH free international shipping and 20-30% off everything in the store (not just the Cyber Monday specials)…much of which will be reduced so the discounts stack further.

    Hence my comment above.

    • Agreed.
Bought plenty of infant t-shirts last year just a week before Xmas (30% off and free ship) and my son has outgrown them all…
Time for another order in a few weeks..!!

    • Boxing day then? Last year's was this time of year though… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171586

Last year was 14 December https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126920

I remember because they rolled me and then I had to battle their customer service "monkeys". Got all of the money back in the end and a $45 store credit also lol

        • Ordering stuff in December is always risky :/ (Thankfully ThinkGeek do indeed do refunds for missing deliveries)

I just bought a new house, checking it out tomorrow. So great timing on this sale. If my kitchen needs stools - Bobba Fett stools here I come :). Got the Kaiju garden gnome in my basket already for the garden.

  • Does the ELFINSALE code stack? Or work for anyone?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171586

  • ELFINSALE does not stack.

I know I'll regret it in a couple of weeks, but needed to order some presents for xmas…

      Cheers mate.

  • Anyone figure a reasonable-priced way to get the Force FX lightsabers? https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e26d/
They apparently don't ship outside of US.
Can't use shopmate Auspost either, because the package will be too long!

    • Amazon $140-$150 with removable blade http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Signature-Lightsaber-Removab…

Or cheaper with fixed blade http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Signature-Series-Lightsaber/…

Free shipping to Aus if paying by Amex (may need to sweet-talk the CS if it's considered too long)

EDIT: Seems it won't ship to OZ even though it says it will on the product page…might be worth chatting with Customer Service

      • That says US only as well :(
        Thanks for looking though

        • "This item ships to Moorabbin, Australia." for both of the links above…but rejects them on checkout.

    • Shipito, PriceUSA, Comgateway, Hopshopgo

      • $100 with 30% off = save $30
        Hop shopgo/shopmate min ~$28

        shrug

Full price and free intl shipping is probably cheaper, especially for bulkier orders.

Thanks OP! Will be buying :)

        • Shopmate won't do orders over a a certain length.
The lightsaber will definitely go over.

          I haven't looked at hopshopgo.

The few other mailforwarding services I did look at quoted estimates of about $70+ (based on my guess on box size).

Let me know how you go. I'm pretty keen on getting one of these.

    • Really? I had Thinkgeek ship an Anakin Ep3 removable blade sabre to me last year I think. Very strange… I have noticed though that more and more of their products "cant" be shipped outside the US.

      • Yeh, I thought they used to.
Really strange why they won't do it now.
I can bring the item all the way to checkout, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet for fear it will all go pear shaped anyway.

  • Is free shipping using DSL still?

    • DHL?

    • +1

DHL or UPS. UPS is of course much better.

      • Had the option of either for free, UPS was 80~ and DHL was 60~. Can you elaborate why UPS is better?

        • +1

UPS seem to handle the packages better and more efficiently. (Why else would they charge more, and why else would thinkgeek allow you to choose your own option?)

Basically, UPS is more reliable than DHL (your mileage may vary).

        • I had a look at some posts on DHL vs UPS and the preference seemed to be DHL with comments about more granular tracking and less likely to be sat on by an elephant.

        • I've had several large and fragile shipments from them via DHL…all good so far.

        • I didn't even think to check to see if UPS was free. It just came up with free DHL. Saved $115 in postage.. win for me.

        • Personal experience. UPS is faster, better tracking, and had less damaged packages.

  • Extended an extra day until 11:59pm 2nd December PST

  • They just posted my stuff.. 4 packages worth.
