If you just write 2% CB people will understand. Looks like spam atm.

  • What about delivery?

    • $149 is include delivery after the code and CB

  • Anyone know if these contain a single 4TB HDD, or multiple smaller? And if a single 4TB HDD, would it be possible to shuck one of these things and connect it to a standard SATA connection in my PC?

    • +1

It's only has one hhd. And yes you can take out of the case.

  • I noticed there is a referral link for COTD. Doesn't promotion code only work through ebay? So does that mean I can't use referral link if I want 20% off?

    • Not sure why those referral links are coming up, just click through the cash rewards link and then use the coupon code at eBay

  • Does anyone know if its a red or green drive inside?

  • +2
  • You can almost guarantee they contain green drives in these. Considering reds are almost twice the price for the bare drive.

  • Or hitachi drives in some

  • I've never used a voucher on ebay before, do I get refunded the $35 or so? It shows $187.99 has been taken out of my paypal. The order total on ebay is also $187.99 but shows the -$35.80 from coupon
edit: I think that $35 of the 187 came from the voucher?

    • +1

If you login to your PayPal and check the transaction detail you can see the voucher as a funding source for that transaction. Just weird behaviour that comes from eBay owning PayPal and having that sort of integration I guess.

  • Nice deal, finally a decent buy from the Ebay AU sale.

  • soo cheap!! especially for AU stock

  • What do you folks reackon about this. I'm looking at a pair of drives to act as a pair of redundant drives to back up my every increasing collection of stuff. Mostly study related (very large 3D models that take up a load of storage space). So the plan would be to have data I am working on loaded onto the PC HDD and then when I am done with it, transfer it back to one HDD and then do regular backups of the first HDD to the second HDD in case one fails.

Are then any better options for a home backup solution? I know it's not very elegant but the only other reasonable option seems to be an NAS server which is a significant jump in price.
How would these compare to the Seagate 5TB option that is also on OzBargain at the moment moment here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/172465

To be honest, WD would be my second choice and is hardly a bad one, however Hitachi are a step above for reliability. 5900rpm Coolspins are ideal for backup purposes. I run a bunch of them in my NAS and they've been amazing.

They are near impossible to buy locally though which leaves Amazon and B&H. Amazon have been discounting the Touro (non pro) external a lot in recent weeks ($129usd) which contains the Coolspin drive.

Upto you. Seagate would be my 3rd choice at the moment but in reality they are probably close to the WD.

  • Can you get Cashback if you don't pay with PayPal? Asking for different deals.

  • Sold out.

  • Out of stock. Damn.

  • Back in Stock!

True it's back in stock but the price is now $179 AUD.

      • Not for me. Ordered before midnight on the 1st and got it for $149. Thanks OP.
