    i hope aussie retailers realise the benefits of permanent free shipping soon. back in the UK pretty much every internet store offered free shipping and i spent so much more online. these days i'm often put off by shipping fees and my money stays in my bank account.

      Maybe that's because the cost of shipping by aust post makes that impossible compared to the UK.

        relatively, postage in the UK is not cheap

        and i'm sure businesses who send lots of items regularly have some sort of corporate account with whoever ships their goods at a flat rate. seems like they just pass this cost onto customers over here.

        IMO if you are operating an internet shop, postage costs should be part of your overheads.

        The post office does not deliver your goods for free. Free shipping means the cost goes into the product.
