  • Good guys is not part of the gift card promo.

    • Thanks :)

  • It seems to be store credit which is issued via email up to 14 days after purchase (you have pay the full amount upfront). The amount of store credit is dependant on the purchase total (and only applicable to those products that can be picked up in store - some, like the Canon 70-200 F4 lens, can't be).

    So it would be the following scenario for the Canon 70D;

    • Pay the total price up-front
    • Get $150 voucher from TGG via email up to a fortnight after the purchase
    • Apply for the $150 cashback from Canon
    • Wait for the money to be sent from Canon
    • Enjoy the camera in the interim
  • Good camera and with a good price. It's $150 cheaper than Digital Camera Warehouse.

  • No IS lenses? May as well get body only and get a nice prime lens instead. Kit lenses without IS are very average.

    • I look at it last night. For some reason the body only is more expensive.

I would not border with 70D anyway unless you are upgrading from an old Canon and has expensive Canon glass.

The IQ and noise performance is so bad for its price point. Compare to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/173363 the 70D is just junk. It does have better auto focus tracking than the A7 though. Then again I can just buy an A6000 set and get blasting AF tracking and save $200.

This is the lens it comes with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens

      • Nice. no problems then… still go out and get yourself a 1.4 or 1.8 Prime lens though ;)

The ebay sale next Mon is slightly better than this one. You'll end up paying $983.44 after discount and cashbacks. No store credit to worry about redeeming.

Thank you for demonstrating how rip off these retail shops are. I come to the same situation when I was pricing the 6d pro kit. Rip off

Hoped that you paid with cash, bank cheque, money order, bank transfer or EFTPOS. Otherwise, it's 1.5% Surcharge for Visa and MasterCard, 2% on Paypal, and 2.5% on AMEX placed through the website and in-store.

Wait for the famous Digidirect 10% sale in a couple of weeks.
70d single kit + canon EF-S 10-18. Total at 1350 then you get &300 cash back. Comes to $1050.
Much better deal and the canon 10-18 has been quote the best APSC wide lens on the market.

    • Are you talking about the 10% off boxing day sales?

      • Not necessary Boxing Day but digidirect do 10% off three to four times a year, one is right after Christmas. So if you can wait, I suggest you do.

Again 70D is not really that good a camera anyway. For the price I calculates, it's not a bad price though.

    • DCW has free shipping for 72 hours. 70D body is just $900 after cashback.

    • This is assuming that digiDirect will sell the 70D body for $1135 less 10%.
