Could you confirm what makes you say this - is it purely because you haven't received any confirmation email since purchasing the giftcards instore, as per your previous comment above?
Genuinely curious whether Amex now has a way of knowing what we purchased, as all previous deals I've used with giftcards (regardless of conditions) have worked.
You can now redeem Amex points directly at DJ instore so maybe their systems are somehow linked now?
I also haven't received the confirmation email.
With regard to in store gift card purchases I rang Amex which seemed the logical thing to do.
The agent read the terms and conditions and agreed there was NO way it excluded in store gift card purchases.
She verbally approved any purchases of in store gift cards in relation to this promotion and made a note on my file to that effect.
She said that if any credits were not applied I was to ring and the matter would be corrected immediately.
She also clarified what they see at their end when a purchase is made in store.
All they see is a merchant ID and an amount.
The only way they could identify what the item bought was would be to request a copy of the purchase from the merchant.
Regardless, this promotion does NOT exclude in store gift card purchases, so stop worrying.
If you don't get your credit in due course just ring Amex and you will get it.

DJs powered by DSE don't actually sell iPhones. Neither do they sell DSE gift cards.
I can't work out a way to buy an iPhone and take advantage of this offer. Anyone else?

I bought one @DJ in Westfield yesterday and the weird thing is till now I still haven't received any notification email.
Normally it takes only seconds to receive the email after transaction…..
if you go online to your amex account you will see the offer saved even though no email sent.
It will also show redeemed once you have spent the $150
The transaction just showed up "DATE DESCRIPTION AMOUNT
17 DEC 2014 DAVID JONES DONCASTER DONCASTER $150.00" today.
But the offer is still showing saved to card……….really strange
Just an update, I have contact AMEX and they have confirmed the credit is sitting there for me.
Don't know why it takes so long for them this time……….
Cards bought in in store 15/12,charge on account16/12, credits received 17/12.
Bought on wed. No email at all. Card charged today.

Worked online a few months ago. But needed to get physical card not e card. $5 postage.
The rules exclude online purchases.
Unless you are totally isolated and unable to get to a DJ store why push the rules and get a possible rejection?
This has been another winner, especially for multicard holders, so why stretch the conditions?
I ask myself many of these questions. Are the gift cards excluded because they are meant to be or because the ecards go to a different cart and won't get the rebate. Is it pushing the rules or are the rules protecting us from ineligible egift cards? I just don't know? Is David jones happy for the rebate to be redeemed in this way? Questions…

Yea so many mixed opinions and differing experiences, i think some people got lucky or the rules are pretty relaxed? hard to say. Better go the safe way.
