Compared to the clear-out months ago? Yes.
Compared to the current flow of sales? No.
Is it? Honestly asking as I'm looking for a Wii U for my nephew for Christmas.
During Target's clearance sale, the price of the Wii U dropped to about 179$. Unless you price the Nintendo land, Just Dance 2015 and the Sing Party U with mic at a 118$ value, I suggest you wait for boxing day sales.
That was a great deal, but as you noted it was a clearance and they were looking to offload the stock quickly. I can't imagine what retailer will be doing that again on boxing day in any kind of reasonable quantity.
I bought my Wii U not far from launch with a $50 off coupon from Big W, plus woolies discount (5% off) it ended up being a WII U premium for $340, I would pay a little more again to get it local without having to worry about AC connections etc, it's possible there will be some competitive sales…
@Tal_Shiar: I'm sure there are discounts to be had…I just think it's unlikely we will see anything like the $179 Wii U's any time soon.
plus the wii party u plus a wii remote. Now that's more tempting.
