It's listed at $999, but you claim $200 cashback from Fuji, so you only pay $799.
The cashback ends on 24/12/14.

At this price it's even cheaper than buying from overseas or eBay.

The image quality of this baby is superb, especially in low light condition.

If you're an Auto mode shooter, don't let all the dials and buttons deter you. Leave them all in Auto and you'd be amazed with the results. Video mode is not as bad as the reviews say, but compared to the competition it's obvious they have quite a bit of work to do.

For a further 2% discount, use Cashrewards and buy the camera from digiDIRECT's eBay store:

  • A lot of camera for not much money! Fuji are making some awesome cameras lately. I have the X100S and would be buying this too if I wasn't going to Europe. Great deal.

Buy for your Euro trip and claim GST back via TRS = greater bargain!

If you're an Auto mode shooter, you shouldn't be shooting with a camera like this.

      And why is that?

Wouldn't you think a Ferrari with Automatic Transmission would be funny?

I'm not a Manual Mode shooter, I mostly shoot in Aperture Priority, but if you don't understand the basics of selecting aperture and how it relates to light and depth-of-field, this camera and DSLRs in general, are not for you yet.

Buying expensive cameras does not help you get better pictures. I can make better pictures with a $100 point and shoot now than I ever could with a DSLR before I was a photographer because I understand the basics of photography, what focal length to use, what aperture to use, whether the shutter speed is appropriate…etc.

If you're going to buy a camera like this and use it on Auto mode, sure, it'll work great for like the odd family shot, but for any sort of 'art' you need to be able to make artistic decisions. For a camera with a larger sensor size, such as this one, compared to point-and-shoots, you need to understand depth of field, because you can't just assume everything will be in focus, which is what most people are used to.

I'm not saying go out there and read up on angle of view, the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, circle of confusions, diffraction, aberration, aspherics, Bayer interpolation…etc. but you should at least understand how to control your camera's exposure before you pick up a camera like this.

        • Wouldn't you think a Ferrari with Automatic Transmission would be funny?

Oh, you've obviously not driven (or read about) a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche for a while then.

  • Used to have the X-E1, amazing IQ but the autofocus was achingly slow. Looks like they've improved it a bit on this version.

  • Just wondering if I buy from Ebay store would it still be eligible for TRS?

    • depends if GST is included in your ebay receipt.

    • Make sure name on invoice matches traveler's.

      • Not required for less than $1000

        • Name and address not required on invoices <$1000 yes, but if there IS a name on the invoice (regardless of price) it needs to match the traveler's.

  • Amazing price. This one worth a look too, Xm1.

Same price but 3 lenses with a cheaper body, tho same sensor. Plus a Fuji satchel bag too. A lighter, smaller version with less physical controls and no viewfinder.
