BitFenix BFC-PRO-300 PRODIGY Mini-ITX Case without PSU $69 + Shipping MSY

180

I've been looking for a nice Mini-Itx case & ran across these. There are some in most areas or online- and many colours still available (I bought the cobolt blue). The reviews are very favourable.

No idea when it ends?

Shipping in my state (WA) was a reasonable $10 (cheaper than the fuel & parking to get there).

Cheers

Almost all the retailers have been clearing the mini-itx versions, in favour of the new micro-atx versions

    • whats the difference?

the mini itx are small enough as it is

      • Eh? Micro-atx is bigger than Mini-itx..

        • It can also support 2-way SLI or Crossfire versus just one card in mITX.

Actually with the Bitfenix Prodigy the cases are the same size regardless of mATX or mITX, the internal layout just differs, either way they're a bit on the larger side for a mITX case.

  • i got my orange one for $65 from msy last week

More info. It is large enough to install a full-sized graphics card due to the ability to remove the inner drive cages: if you don't need the optical drive, you can add fans. For a large graphics card, you can remove the top HDD cage.

@dsl1108, I have been looking at this for a while- if you got it in-store @ $65, great. Maybe that shop did you a deal?

Online, this is still about $30 dearer every where else.

I happen to like M-itx, especially as the performance has increased. I like a small case as I have it on my desktop- but I don't want those sh*tty little black things trotted out as "small form factor".

The case is pretty sweet & I look forward to completing my build.

Cheers to all who buy & build- I'd love to see what you do with it?

    The way i see it:

mini-itx have great performance, just plan ahead (i.e if you need wireless, more ram bays or expansion slots) :)

That being said, these cases are nice, but way too big for a small form factor in my opinion. When i first checked one out i was really disappointed because for it's size it could have at least fit a micro-atx but doesn't.. in fact at the time i looked on net, some people had modded the case to do just that. The case fits a regular size atx psu and graphics card (remove hd cage) though which is nice.

If you really want small form factor, i would recommend silverstone, corsair or fractal (just be wary that some require SFX size psu, and can be a little harder to replace!).

I have the Special Edition (LEDs and mesh front/sides) version of this case. I love it. Really good internal layout. I also looked at the Matx version but the layout isn't as good.

Its not really "small form factor" but it will take a full size PSU and GPU and still get decent ventilation and heat management.

      And it has handles.

  • This is a great case, I have it!….. Which was bought just 2 weeks ago from a different store….

Case arrived today (2 DAYS FROM ORDER).

The cobalt blue is awesome. I opened the case & removed the cages- slick. Found you can remove all HDD cages & still be able to screw in SSD's to the wall nearest the MB. Nice!

The handles are very tough. The metal steel side panels are the thickest/strongest I've seen in a while- even more than the higher-end ATX cases I've used in the past.

Plenty of room for ventilation & cable-tidy + graphics card.

    Cheers
