Some good deals from Apple this week.

This is a collection of deals sourced from the various Apple digital stores: movies, TV shows, music, books, and apps.

I especially like The Lord of The Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition, HD) for $34.99 — this compares favourably to an equivalent Blu-Ray box set from eBay for about $64. I believe this is special pricing given the US iTunes RRP is $54 USD, but happy to be corrected.

I am unsure about when the deals end and have just picked this Friday.

Edit: it seems at least one or more deals are still active today, eg, Homeland TV pilot episode. I have updated the expiry date to today, Saturday 27 December.

Edit: and perhaps for the last day, many (all?) deals remain active, so I updated the expiry date to today, Sunday 28 December.

  Thanks! There should be more free stuff coming up too; Apple usually does a 12 days of Christmas thing after Christmas day, over New Year's. There should be free music, movies, TV shows to come.

    I don't think they are doing it this year. The app is usually out by now to countdown if they are.

    Edit, just downloaded the app from my purchase history, says 12 days of gifts has ended

  Thanks OP! Bought a few, Apple has not been so generous this year, the entire Harry Potter HD collection for $10 last year was awesome.

    Haha, that was a pricing error on the US store. They had the Lord of the Rings trilogy for $10 too. It didn't last long but I was lucky enough to grab both. :)

    Windows has an equivalent, I think it's called Character Map.

    Can anyone recommend a better photo sharing app than tinypic? It's kinda… cluttered.

      Not really sure if imgur is less cluttered. imgur.com a few people use that and then there is OzB's own upload page in your account under files.

    You probably bought the entire season instead of clicking the GET button next to the pilot?
    Contact Apple, you might be able to ask for a refund

    Correct, it's their 99c movie of the week, unlike the 99c TV pilot of the week where you get to keep the episode.

  I just click the link on this page, I thouhgt it is ok. But when I check the bank detail then find out they charged me money.

    It's very obvious what is free and what isn't. If you clicked on a button that has a $ sign and a price on it, then obviously it's not free. It either says free or get next to items in the apple store that have no cost associated.

    Furthermore, OP says Free TV "Pilots", a pilot is the first episode or initial episode before the season. It definitely doesn't mean you get the whole season for free.

    Additionally, the Apple store make it very clear by telling you are you sure you want to purchase XYZ? And that your account will be charged if you proceed.

    Conclusion? You're either a child with limited life experience, or a troll.

    Get your parent or guardian to call apple, explaining your mistake and plead for a refund.
