It is worth to note that the Original's rrp is slightly less than the Nut Mix ($3.63 as opposed to $4.02).

    Good deal OP!

Love these Bhuja mixes…. The savings on buying the 800g bags from Costco would have almost covered our Costco membership fees already :)

$9.90 I think it is for the big 800g bag which is OK when the regular supermarkets don't have it on special, and Coles and Woolies never have them on special enough!

  • Ahh, bugger, didn't see these when I was there today, just grabbed the Coles brand unsalted peanuts. Will have to grab some of these tomorrow. Cheers OP :)

  • There is another similar tasting snack/nut mix on sale at recently at my local coles for $1.50 (Regular price is $2.20)

Bought one, was so delicious bought 2 more packs next day.

I tried Bhuja mix on special at Woolies last month for $1.99. Its good too. I liked Original mix more.

    Hi All new to OB!

My family loves Bhuja so thank you for the heads up regarding this. Not often that these are half price.

Important to me that these are Made in Australia unlike a lot of the (cheaper) imported varieties and the "Big American" nut mixes out there.

    • Americans are a bunch of nuts.

Bhuja is real 'Bhujia' is North Indian snack, not American. There are roughly 20_30 odd varieties. You can find most in a decent Indian shop near you.

    • +2

Its also called "Bhujia" or "Namkeen" which roughly translates to "Salty Snack" in Indian/Hindi language. To see varieties of this snack see this and this

Even PepsiCo produce 36 varieties of "Bhujia/Namkeen" in the Indian Market.

And as mentioned by "777" you can find most in any good Indian Grocery store.

One particular flavor (Bikaneri Bhujia) was so popular that companies all over the world (Small and Big) have produced copycats and Indian Patent Office confirmed the Geographical Indications rights and patent was issued for the brand name Bikaneri bhujia to local manufacturers of Bikaner (in India).

  • I love the Pea version from Costco

  • Looks like u may need a LOT of water to go with these

    • An excuse to keep yourself hydrated? Win win

      • The sodium is fairly high for the heart. So not really a Win Win….

          Why are people so unkind?

Why is sunflower oil healthy? From what I know it is one of the worst oils possible. Or is sarcasm lost on me :) ?

    • As opposed to palm oil?

      • +1

palm oil is bad because of its impact on the environment, not its impact on your health. if the palm oil is sustainably produced then there's no problem

also why would the existence of another worse oil change the fact that sunflower oil is bad for you?

        • What data are you basing this on?

If sunflower oil is so bad for you what is a healthier alternative?

        • @endless112:

Well I was unsure where I heard this, I did a google search and most of the first page results say that it is bad.

        • @mihai.petrescu:

Ok, I read some more, basically they have no idea, oils become healthy or unhealthy every 10 years of so.

        • @endless112: coconut oil, olive oil, lard, tallow & ghee all come to mind

    • high in omega 6 which is not that great… causes inflammation

Of course, inflammation is essential for our survival. It helps protect our bodies from infection and injury, but it can also cause severe damage and contribute to disease when the inflammatory response is inappropriate or excessive.

      Canola oil would be better

      • offset your omega 6 intake by popping a few fish/krill oil tablets. Get that ratio of omega 3 to 6 closer to 1:1. Your brain, joints and heart will love you for it.

        • +1

To put it in perspective, western diets have a ratio of 20:1 in favour of omega 6. Horrendous. I always tell ppl to cook with coconut oil or ghee and to steer clear of vegetable oils all together. Use olive oil as a cold dressing on salads and make chia seed puddings when you can.
