repetitive clicking sounds like a busted HDD.

didn't get it from Aldi, got mine from Kmart :)

    Built in pump?

    • Not too sure m8, will have to ring and find out :)

    • +4

      U wish for that price

      • easy enough to pump up with a vacuum anyway :)

        • +1

          How??

        • @lawyerz: http://www.howcast.com/videos/386895-How-To-Inflate-an-Air-M…
to be honest I didn't even know you could do this lol, we use a crappy pump

        • +2

@TRENT86: Err… did you not see the crucial caveat there? You need a vacuum cleaner that has reversible suction, i.e. it needs to have two valves (inlet/exhaust) that the hose can connect to, so you could actually hook one end up to the exhaust and have air expelled into the hose and into the mattress connected on the other end.

The number of consumer vacuums with exhaust valves that the hose can connect to out there must be slim to nil. I've never seen one of those in my life.

The Electrolux featured in that video looks like it's from 1986; which is probably when those kind of vacuums were in vogue.

        • @Amar89: Yeah luckily mine has one, but anyway it's not like you can't just use a cheap pump, there are plenty of ways to inflate this :)

        • +2

I wonder if my cheapie Big W leaf blower will do this job..

        • @onebutters: We use a leaf blower to blow up our pool lol

        • People should just buy an air compressor, I got one for $40 and I use it to clean the dust out my PC along with other random tasks.

        • Aldi is selling the pump separately at $22.99…. page 14 of the Aldi catalogue….same page where you will see this $14.99 double air mattress

        • @James030609: is that a good price for a pump?

        • @nickwalnut: I thought air compressors have static in the air they blow out so not good for PC components? Where did you buy yours?

        • @lonewolf: I've never heard of this but to be fair I never did any research. I tbh don't even understand the idea of static in the air. Is that even possible?

From what I remember I bought mine from SuperCheapAuto a year or so ago.

        • @nickwalnut:

If you google it, there are quite a few mentions about how it can create static but i think it also depends on the humidity at the time.

  • Is there a queen one as well? It wouldn't fun sleeping on a mattress that's 7cm shorter than you.

    • Doesn't say m8 but worth giving them a ring when deal starts

  • I use small foot pump I got when bought a cheap inflatable boat, and use duct tape around the inlet in bed because the connector in the pump too small for bed inlet. Will took a while to pump, but easy to bring to picnic or camping.

  • Starts THIRD of Jan.

    • +1

      Yeah it's in title

  • Just FYI I saw at kmart they had a single mattress for $12 and I can't remember how much the double was… I think about $17? Can't say quality wise which would be better.

    • Double is $19, I would also assume quality would be the same..

trent86, if you call up and amend the post with your findings, lots of people will give you extra votes. Including me.

and your vote is worth precisely one fifth of S.F.A
Its not enough that OP regularly posted good deals, they gotta do your homework too.

But this is the internet, we don't make phone calls! :)

  • This is the standard price for a double at Big W. Picked one up last week for Christmas visitors. Has a nice fabric top so it isn't all vinyl. Can only find the single online but it is called "Double AirBed" on the box in store.

  • does anyone know any good/cheap pumps to go with this mattress?

    • search on Gumtree - I did and theres a few in Melbourne at reasonable prices.

  • Don't ever try making the beast with two backs on one of these, damn near shattered my kneecap one camping trip.

    • +2

      Thanks for the tip, grandpa.

i can finally own a boat.

  • Aldi is selling the pump separately at $22.99…. page 14 of the Aldi catalogue….same page where you will see this $14.99 double air mattress

    • Lol they must think we are fools

  • Not sure this is the similar quality as from BigW. If so save your money and get one from camping shops such as Anaconda. Have had many air mattresses from these shop and found the quality of BigW/dollar shops shockingly bad but ones from Anaconda held up overnight no problem.
