MEATJAN

WOOLWORTHS ONLINE 20% OFF Meat when you spend $50 or more in the Meat department
Enter code MEATJAN at checkout by 31 January 2015.
ONLINE ONLY!
I assume that, like their last meat offer, Meat Department excludes deli.
Confirmed that code is generic. (glennh70)
I also tried to stack it with one of the 10% off codes ($100 min spend) but received the rejection message 'Coupon "MEATJAN" cannot be used with any other coupon'
And, in addition, in my experience they give an average of 20% more than you pay for with online meat orders too!

    Just ordered

    Mince $4.00/kg - 5% with gift card ($3.80/kg)
    Chicken breast $7.20/kg - 5% with gift card ($6.85/kg)

    That's a great deal!!

Blasphemy, you'd didn't get 7.5% off wish cards?

      • +1

        I'm happy with 5% discount.

Did the figures on a $55 EB to save extra 2.5% on Woolies Gift Cards (I have no other use) on a deal that was available for a short while…

Did not make sense in my case.
Would have required $2200 gift card purchase in December to cover EB cost, but then would have lost the 4% interest on gift card purchase. I would spend less than $2200/year at Woolies etc.

A good deal if you already had the EB.

        • too true, as a family we spend the majority of income at the overseas majors, and when you can buy other stores gift cards with the discounted cards, its a pretty good deal for us.

    • As for the Woolies $5 mince… I usually feed this as a treat to the butcherbirds & magpies. Ran short of food, so cooked some - had to drain the fat 3 times. May have been the batch, but it was so fatty. Last time I ate it (1 year ago in Sydney) I remember the same issue.

  • Worked for me thanks and I also got free delivery. Nice little saving straight after Christmas :)

  • grrr, i've got to clean out my chest freezer

    • +1

Yep mine is full from the December offer. I will leave my purchase until late January!

  • Perfect! hosting a BBQ on Saturday!

  • Good deal but I don't need any more in The Meat Department thank you very much.

  • No free postage for me so that kills the discount.

    • Free pick up ??

    • +2

Register a new EDR card (or re-register your old card with different email) for 3 free deliveries.

  • Brings the Whole marinated chickens down to $4.20 a KG and chicken drumsticks to $2.40 KG, might be a good time to stock up!

    • +2

and when you order them chickens at min 1.5kg and get 2.3kg chickens, its a GREAT deal :)

      • I've got a feeling I'm gonna buy $50 of meat tonight i don't even need and won't have room in the freezer

        • +1

I cut up the chickens and toss out the carcasses before freezing the parts. Takes up a lot less space.

        • @peck:

How do you cut it properly without wasting a lot of meat? I normally just cook the chicken whole

        • @peck:
How wasteful;-) Carcasses can easily be used to make great stock. Excess meat falls off. Then store in freezer in small containers or an ice cube tray to add flavour to cooking.

pull out 1 leg/wing at a time and cut thru the main joint. cut down the middle of the chest to each side following around the rib cage. Voila! 2 breasts, 2 Chicken Marylands and 2 full wings. Very little meat left on the carcass but you can scratch that off too if you wish. Sharp knife required, and you will soon get the knack of it!! Also I just noticed that there are youtube clips on the subject.

        • Whenever you want carcasses, you could pick up a dozen at the chicken shop for a few bob, and you have freezer space for all of those ozbargains!! :o)

        • @peck:

All I need is the super sharp knife, where is the knife sale haha

I ordered 250g olives from the deli on Monday @$20/kg. Amount delivered was 6g under that weight. Emailed complaint & got $5 purchase price refunded. Free olives ;-) Previous meat deliveries have always been over weight.

        • lol. i've also had a good run with mince which usually tends to be a bit over weight. sometimes i've scored better mince.

        • @mattgal:
I know you love your discount mince ;-)
But was very unimpressed with it.

Also got a refund from same delivery for butter, even though it was delivered :-)

        • +1

the fat is stuff that is good for you. all the red stuff is what's killing you :)

        • @mattgal:
          Lol ;-)
After reading that I suddenly got very hungry. Remembered the Woolies mince defrosted for the magpies in the morning. Well this pack of mince from same store was very lean. Almost no sign of fat in pan. Defrosting more mince for the birds - they've got young to feed. That is if I don't eat it.

  • Woolworths online specials are listing whole lamb roasts for $6.50 a kilo. A bargain if you use this code!
