Not a bargain, its just a chopping board. This is just advertising.

    neg vote from me…

For anyone thinking of buying this, dont.

Go and buy a good quality thick and heavy wooden chopping board and use this to cut everything except meat.
For meat just buy a cheap plastic board at the same time as buying the wooden board.

Thin plastic boards are awful to use as they warp, and slide across your bench top when you are trying to cut.

  • I wasn't telling anyone if it is a god set of chopping boards or not, just posting that it is a good deal as these do sell for considerably more in stores and therefore thought it was a bargain worthy of posting.

    • oops! u were right.. would you believe, I just saw these for sale in Waringah Mall for $109!!
compared to that price they are a bargain, so i think i must retract the neg vote…..

but.. I'm still not buying it :)

Buy this if you want dull knives.

The best cutting board is an endgrain timber board. Even for meats as you have to seal the timber prior to using it. Not cheap though.

Why is every Catch of the day bargain in here these days even when they are selling rubbish??

    • i agree alot of the stuff they sell belongs on graysonline. its just junk ppl cant sell. like the kids toys they were trying to pitch yesterday and today. remote control helicoper for $9.95 plus $10 shipping? These toys were ALWAYS $20 to begin with!

however in regards to chopping boards. i agree the thicker harder ones are better. but if u get the good thin ones (i dont know much about the ones they are selling here). like the ones i got from japan. They are aboslutely awesome. they dont scratch so u dont wind up scraping bits of ur chopping board into ur food. i hate that. theyre really strong but dont blunt ur knives. super thin and easily storable. second of all it makes placing chopped stuff into bowls and stuff really easy cause u can fold them into a U shape and tip it out. ive seen some crazy ones where u can bake with them too.

        They are silicone.
They also make baking 'tins' out of the same stuff.

No greasing and the cake simply falls out, they are great

  • Ummmm had a little google…. these things are a lot more expensive everyone else, even $50 minimum on eBay, this was a good deal, all sold out now though.

  • SOLD OUT - END OF STORY!!!

I bought my multi coloured ones from Safeway for less than $7.

If you notice they say "Similar units sell in retail and online for over $80"

"Similar" being the key word. There's a reason they say "similar" and not "the same" Its because it's not.

The ones that cost $80+ are made from higher quality material specifically designed for its purpose. This one costs $20 because it would be made from inferior materials. It will most likely chip, warp and even be not very hygienic to use.

You really have to keep an eye out for words like similar in these bargains because they are deceptive.

It's people like you that are the first to complain that they're been ripped off from a so called "bargain"

  • Is COTD going to sell these again?

    • Only if they have stock left

If they do it will be during their catch-a-thon or other big sale
