Free Coke - Interactive Poster/Dispenser. Brisbane: King George Sq Bus Station & Central Station

550

There is a new vending machine promotional thing at the King George Square bus station in Brisbane. It's a projected, interactive poster. If you rearrange the coke cans you get a small coke.

The one time I actually find one of these and I am in my first week of a no sugar diet! Go figure… At least I have this can to keep my fingers coool on the bus :D

There's also one at central station Brisbane

    That's cool. Thanks OP

  • whats the correct order or combination?

    • Mmmm… Not sure. I swapped 2 or three of them at random and a coke popped out. Maybe different combos = different flavours.

    • +1

There's no combination I just can do it every 10 mins

  • These are sprinkled around Sydney. My experience is just tap any and they give you one of the same colour

    • really.where abouts in sydney?

Any near the QVB/Town hall area?

      • +6

There is one near Pitt street mall on the pedestrians only area between the Westfield and Pitt street mall. Also there is one more near Martin place. It's behind the Telstra phone booths.

        • The one at Martin Place.

Is it towards George street or closer to the Lindt Cafe/Channel 7?

thanks. Will go to the city tomorrow.I hope these vendy machines don't run out.

        • @Pepsi to go: As far as I remember it's closer to George street. Also the cool down period seems to be a bit long. I am sure OzBargainers going to keep those vending machines busy over the weekend. So good luck with that :)

        • @dealsfinder:

So the CoolDown period starts after a certain amount of Can's taken?

i saw on one of the coke ads and there's one down near Circular quay near Mc Donald's.

@Pepsi to go: The cool down period starts immediately a coke is dispensed to stop one person getting multiple cans.

I've seen one in Sydney Chinatown and at Darling Harbour.

However there seem to be a cooldown time between prizes.

  • +1

They still don't mention the associated competition website/the $250k+ prizepool.

Walk past this a few times a week and only got a free one once. Seems if the cans are animated you get a freebie.

What's with these coloured coke cans I suddenly see everywhere. Did they hire the folks at Apple to do their marketing? Are they trying to be hip/cool? SMH.

Not sure if you're serious or not. Coke's marketers are the best in the business and have been doing it for decades. Apple's marketing boffins are the new kids on the block and have taken many cues from Coke.

i was kidding, no need to neg me.

      • Smaller cans and higher prices because its what customers want. Well thats what Coke says

      • +2

I rate Coca Cola's marketing team as best in the world

      • -1

Yea, those Apple guys have been in the business, what, only 30 years…

        • -1

Coke has been in business over a century. What's your point?

  • +3

Free coke? Coca cola? Oh.. okay then

  • I've seen them at Melbourne Central and Southern Cross, both after myki gates.

    • Seen at MC too, but I've never seen it in stock.

    • same here..but no luck for grabbing any of the coke..

  • +1

Does it have Coke Zero, otherwise no good

    • Why? Are you diabetic?

      • Tastes better

    • +1 doesn't seem to have diet coke option. sad face.

  • I gotta go into the city to try this out sometime!

    • +1

you're better off staying inside, where it's safe ;)

Should this be considered a 'competition' rather than bargain/deal?

Some more information about these machines, since I saw one opened this morning for restocking.

The entire machine holds only 36 cans. Guy said they're restocked several times a day.

There's a hidden app that they can get to, to mark the machine restocked and do other things, which I believe is activated by touching certain "cans" in sequence to enter a password of sorts.

sounds like the 3541 easter egg in those older coke vending machines with the conveyor belt :p

      • Please explain?

  • Sydney town hall station still does not have it, oh why!

You son of a ….. I just discovered this the other day and no one else seemed to ever touch them. Why would you share this??!!! We could have had free coke!!!!
