  • The MK8 included is a physical or digital (DL code)copy?

    • If it's like ours it's physical

      • Thanks. Just saw it in the Amazon comments- it's physical.

    • physical - its on the Q&A for the product.

  • Uk is 240V right?

  • +3

    Mortal Kombat 8 !

  • According to the Q&A it is 240V as you'd expect and also appears to be region locked so I am assuming no good in AUS? Someone more knowledgeable about the Wii U perhaps can weigh in.

    • +9

UK and Aus share the same region locking codes: PAL. Therefore, games from the UK will work on an Australian console and vice-versa.

    • +2

I bought my Wii U about 2yr ago from Amazon UK, no issues using it in AUS or with AUS games. You will need two power adaptors though - one for the console and one of the Wii U Gamepad.

      • Hi. I'm new here. Been a long time lurker but just joined to respond to JimJim's comment.

You don't need power adapters at all :) I have a US Wii U and don't use adapters.

        Hope this helps :)

        • Then how do you plug your US plugs into Australian sockets?

        • @ltwo:

Sorry I thought JimJim meant power adapters, since I thought having a socket adapter is stating the obvious :)

So yeah, just to confirm, you don't need power adapters for Wii U consoles from any region :)

        • @TLZ: I think you mean voltage converters or power converters :D

        • @TLZ: People usually refer to those as step-up transformers.

          i.e. step-up 110v to use for our 240v.

        • @Kagamin:
          @ltwo:

Lol yes that one. Thanks for clarifying. Sorry for the confusion :D

          I do have a NTSC-U Wii U and use it without a step-up transformer :)

Hopefully this comes out helpful now as I ended up confusing myself and people before :P

My only issue now though is I can't buy games here since they're all PAL, and buying from the US through Amazon or Ebay is costly because of the delivery :( So my only choice is either Play-asia or digital, but I prefer my games be physical.

        • @TLZ: just wondering, will the NTSC-U console work with an AU Wii-U power adapter?

        • @astroberryz: Do you mean AU Wii U AC adapter, as in the power cable that comes with it? If so I'd say yes since the Wii U accepts 240v.

Sorry mate, it's just that word has got me confused as you can see from my previous posts :P

Is it supposed to be 200 GBP or 165.83 GBP? The former price is seen on the product page, where as the latter is seen in the basket. Was the product page's price a mistake?

    • +1

      Vat removed.

      • Ah, okay. Much better. Thanks!

  • +5

    For everyone,

If you put in PRICELES5 as a coupon, you get 5 pounds off the total order.

Also I've noticed priority express although faster, is much cheaper than AmazonGlobal Standard.

  • +1

Haven't tried Amazon before, how's the delivery time and warranty? What is the risk?

    • +2

      Delivery rates and times

Amazon customer support is excellent. If the item is damaged during delivery, you can send it back to them. They will reimburse you for the return postage and send you a replacement at no additional cost.

No local Nintendo warranty. You would need to send it back to the UK, or pay Nintendo Australia for repairs.
Although failures can occur, Nintendo products are built to last, so the risk is relatively low.

      • @max power, thanks! this is the lowest price ive seen and the mk8 included is a physical copy which means I can sell it later.

  • With code PRICELES5, it shows $325 to me

    • -1

Same. What I don't understand is why does it have 199 pounds but in checkout it costs 165 pounds?

    • +1

Need to use PRICELES5 with Mastercard payment. Price is reduced as Amazon remove the VAT.

      • I use MasterCard, and it shows 5 pounds discount, but the total price is still $325

    • Order total should be 169.31 GBP.
Amazon currency converter will show around 325 AUD.
If you place the order in GBP instead of AUD, it should be a bit cheaper. Especially if your credit card provider doesn't charge you an international transaction fee.

Go for it guys! This is a great price for the premium and a must have game.

  • Great deals! I have been looking for a Wii U price drop and here it is.

Just a question, I believe this bundle only comes with 1 gamepad? So if I want to have MK8 local multiplayer, I would need to buy an extra controller?

If that is the case, can anyone suggest a good one for MK8? Thank you all.

    • Using the normal wii remotes work fine. Use a steering wheel add on if needed.

The prem edition comes with the wii senser bar.

    • Get the pro controller, much better that the other controllers

  • +1

can anyone comment on this vs waiting for a deal on an aussie version? wondering if this will be harder to sell down the road?

  • How long does it take to arrive to Australia?

    • Generally around 1.5wks or less. My last order from Amazon UK was around that timeframe.

      • Okay, can't believe after amazing wii u deals, $175 wii u, mario kart 8 with extra bonus game for $52.20. My Wife decides she wants a wii u and wants it now.

Just purchased one off eb online (Had to convince her that paying $425 for it was a joke) for $305ish with epic micky and going to pick up mario kart for around $60. $140 down the drain.

        lol

        • I feel you, Treeman. After getting knocked back requesting for a Wii U upgrade, I try setting it up today with my HT system and find that I can't, because I can't convert composite into the HDMI out. The only way forward is to painfully dismount my wallmounted TV and pull another composite input directly.

She finally agrees that a Wii U will prolong the life of our Wii investments, on top of offering easier integration with our home, and of course all the new games that the U has to offer.

But we are now paying more!

  • I took the plunge and just got one…
Definitely leave the payment in GDP

If you covert it to $AUD on the Amazon site it works out to about $AUD325
I just let the bank convert it and it worked out to be around $AUD315

Looks like it just left France an hour ago!

Due date is Tuesday 27th Jan…..

Thanks for all the input and advice…

    • Bloody hell that's 6 days more than EB and $110 cheaper…would have got it from amazon if I knew that!

Got a pack from EB games with Epic Micky for $305 and it is coming from QLD and is meant to be here by the 21st.

      • Fortunately ours is arriving today, 4 days earlier than predicted. So not so bad now.

  • +1

    Expired…. Now £275

    • Sigh, missed out, now to wait for the next Wii U offer…

  • +1

Just to let you guys know, I bought this deal on the 10th Jan 2015. It has just arrived today 20th Jan 2015. Only 9 days of waiting makes it super sweet for the price.
