  • How is this a Bargain? Looks like a glossy form of ticket scalping.

      How is this a Bargain

I have already mentioned in the description that it is expensive, but if try buying it from any of the sources, I am quite sure it won't be less than $300. For those who are looking for these tickets and desperately want it by any means instead of paying $300-$500, they can just get away with $270, thus it is bargain for them. It has got much included add ons as well, which will not be provided from the seller on ebay, thus a bargain.

      • -4

So by your definition, it's a bargain if you're not ripping them off as much as others?
Still, at least you're throwing in some extras!

    • +6

Its cheap considering how 'high profile' this match :)

      • +5

This match sold out in under 3 days. Scalpers were asking more than $300 a ticket six months ago.

        • +1

under 3 days you say? I logged in an hour after tickets were released and was only able to buy one ticket after hitting refresh fifty times

      • There were some tickets released in November and they were sold out in couple of minutes! and then we had to go to some agents to buy the tickets and paid $50 extra… So, how did they manage to get all the tickets!!!

    • Who said they're mutually exclusive?

    • You have no idea. This is the most sought after ticket in cricket at the moment

Wondering how much planning ICC did to make sure India vs Pak match happens… no matter what
This is as good as a Final as far Asian cricket lovers are concerned

    • About the same as having Australia v England… and at the G!

      • +4

        Lol …. not quite

        • +8

You make me laugh! With a combined viewership of over a billion people this is the biggest match in the league stage of the World Cup for which South Australia bid amongst other states! Aus Eng is minuscule in comparison!

          Hahaha

          India control world cricket

If you read more than the Daily Telegraph you would realise that BCCI have the power

          @Wickzki49:

You have no idea do you. Currently Adelaide is the second largest cricket ground in Australia whilst Perth is undergoing renovation.

Makes sense to check some facts before posting.

        • @Wickzki49: This guy

Would go if I could because I enjoy watching the Indians and Pakis pay out on each other.
    Funny as.

  • I've heard the price of Air Tickets to Adelaide for this match and (ex Sydney) are quite expensive

    • Very expensive indeed!

      • +1

I still wonder why airlines can get away with what is effectively scalping themselves since forever.

        • +4

          Supply and demand.

          @heatseeker424:
          Scalpers function the same way.

Actually airfares are worse than ticket scalpers as they discriminate price almost down to the individuals level, but airfare scourging are just seen as a fact of life whereas scalping is somehow seen as grossly unethical.

      • Our family was going to hire a van for a group of 8 but with no unlimited km option it was quite costly. They decided to fly there.

    • Yep. My family and friends are going. The tix we are like 360.

    • That's reason I have decided to go for a RoadTrip instead..

  • I managed to get 2 tickets but the airfare from Sydney is a killer.

    • How about travelling with train? I know it can take up to 12 hours, but airfare is for sure a killer.. Should be approx 400 pp return with airfare?

      • this is why you should have practiced apparition when you were on in hogwarts.

FYI. I might create a portkey in melbourne.

        • I just look at a picture and jump there.

      • Is there a train to Adelaide from Sydney?

  • +1

Only game which was fully sold out in first release of tickets
There are only few cat b or a tickets remaining. And gen admission now going for above $300 a pop, from their original value of $20!

    • I wonder if those many Indians and Pakistanis are traveling to Australia for the match. Or is it just those already living in Australia?

      • Tough to say, mostly people already living here I would say but I have couple of friends from UK who made a plan to visit OZ around this match dates. Win win.

      • +3

I have family coming our here from India to see this Match. But pretty sure 60-70% of them will be residents of Australia.

      • Cricket australia confirmed 20000 Indians/Pakistanis coming from Oseas

      • +1

I wouldn't plan to travel by taxi during the match. ;-)

        • Y so?

        • @dealsfinder: Take a wander to a taxi rank and take a quick survey about the game.

Good deal if you are desperate to attend this match which will be a crazy atmosphere. I bought my tickets to this match about a year ago and bought flights about 6 months ago for about $90 return when Jetstar had a sale, booked cheap accommodation as well. Jetstar is selling the same flights now for about $650.00 return. For Melbourne peeps who haven't booked the flights as yet, a cheaper option is to take the overnight greyhound bus for $70 one way or Firefly has them for $65 one way.

People who want to attend this match now will have to shell out more money as the match tickets are in high demand.

    • Right on money. The fares has just gone out of ballpark now.

    • Yes. Overnight stay (if you can find it! ) is also very expensive during this time.

  • +5

Or you could watch it on telly. Free as.

    • Better views. Drink as much as you want.
Fall asleep, from boredem, on the comfort of your own couch.

  • Is it? I thought Foxtel had all the non Aussie games?

    • That's true

  • Hi
I have found this link where you can buy category C for $224 pp. I have never bought anything from this but worth to try I guess

  • SYD - ADL return flight during this date - $800.
i was looking to buy ticket but all sold out.

any tips for general admission ticket?

  • Wow Tickets are being sold for $300?? I did manage to get myself one ticket Category C ticket but can't go as have to travel overseas. I was thinking of just forgetting about it but maybe i should just sell my ticket. Should be able to buy a few eneloops with it

  • These tickets are so cheap (I just looked at the Airfare)!

  • -4

The India vs SA game at the G is surely a better option. You could get tickets for 20 bucks

    • I think there may just be a little rivalry between India and Pakistan though!

  • +2

    $270 = $2.70 per over.

But at T20 game in Adelaide tonight they only played 11 overs. So if it's rained out like that then it works out to $24.50 per over.

  • Wow so $$$!!! I was fortunate to get a few tickets for $20 each in the Indian fan zone which will be exciting. I booked flight in August for 170 return on Virgin. Can't believe flights r so $$ now

  • Hope you guys enjoy our brilliant Adelaide Oval aka The Portress!
I love that place, I take every opportunity I can to go there.

    • -2

      That name stinks

  • Wow: India vs Pakistan World Cup clash to be most watched match in history
That might be the reason tickets are expensive. Might watch it on TV.
    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/top-stories/India-vs-Paki…

  • If this game is rained out I think there will be a riot…

    • Wouldn't be any different to normal. It's used to hosting brain dead hooligan football fans during the winter months (ie. Crows v Power)!
waiting for retort from Food : P

      • OI! The only thing close to a riot that has ever happened was that a crows 'fan' punched a opposition supporter kid. 85% of us Power fans are legends ;)
