$1.10 after Officeworks price beat and save stock for everyone else

    • Officeworks has been known not to pricematch MSY, or if a store's having a special sale. Call the buyer if they start pulling some crap like that, they're supposed to honor sale prices too. They're supposed to price match MSY too.

      • Well I managed to price match canon printer back then, mx885. But only when they call up to ensure the item is in stock. Regardless, they should price match as per their t&c.

      • They went through a phase about not price matching MSY quite a while ago (claiming that their warranty policy make part of the 'product'), but then they changed their policy back to doing it again, just more strict about checking for stock and making sure it is 100% identical item.

        • +1

Its seemingly random. I've priced matched only twice successfully and the first time was only because the manager slipped up and admitted warranty terms only come into count if the item is faulty which cannot be assumed when you buy the item. Last time I tried the buggers denied the claim on some seeminly random unrelated reason. Not worth the trouble in my opinion. MSY has the deal, buy it from the person that brings you the deal is my view. Officeworks will rarely bring you decent deal on their own accord.

      • +1

I have price matched MSY plenty of times never a drama

      • +1

I price matched MSY at Officeworks last week for the Microsoft All-In-One Media Keyboard. The person at the counter wasn't sure if they were allowed to so they checked with management who said it was fine.

    • OfficeWorks has an exclusion for cash back offers in their Lowest Price Guarentee, does this fall under that?

      http://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/lowest-pr…

What items are excluded from the LPG?
      - Non identical products and services (inclusive of non identical warranties)
      - Package deals i.e. printer and computer bundles
      - Cash back and coupon offers
      - Resellers
      - Customer special orders
      - Contract Pricing
      - Competitor clearance products

      • +3

I would guess no because you aren't claiming the cashback as part of the price when you get them to pricematch.

  • thanks

  • +1

Will Officeworks Werribee price-match MSY Brooklyn? (or other nearby stores)

I have a feeling MSY will have Officeworksy stock levels to negate a price-match - or simply refuse due to location.

  • +3

    I paid $2 more :(

    • I feel your pain, i paid $6 :<

    • Buy another one and return the old one. Nah jk, not worth the time.
      DW i paid $1 more :(

      • I pricematched the old msy price of 19.95 at officeworks before xmas, so a little under 2 dollars. but still :( haha

  • Can someone please tell me if I order this as a bunch (for three) and get it shipped, then will I be able to claim on the total or do I need separate invoice for each item?

    • Same invoice, re-submit x 3.

    • -1

And be aware that according to T&Cs
"Each person may make up to 3 claims to receive the offer. A separate claim must be registered for each individual Product purchased."

So if you bought headset before (0 after cashback deal), then you will need to use another name to claim for the third keyboard & mouse

    For what it's worth.

    http://arstechnica.com/security/2015/01/meet-keysweeper-the-…

On first click, I was expecting to read the typical 'implementation flaws undermine encryption' type story. Wasn't expecting to learn Microsoft still barely even attempts to provide decent security across much of its current range of wireless keyboards.

    • Well sure but let's face it if people gave a **** they would just use wired connections instead of allowing anyone to listen to whatever wireless information they choose to broadcast to anyone listening.

    • Microsoft and the NSA are best buds you know :)

Probably the reason they have enough money to have these cashback offers!

  • rothwell OW unable to pricematch as the manager was uncomfortable

    • +18

Should have told him to sit down then.

    • OMG! OW didn't pricematch. HOW did this happen?

    • +1

Just got it price matched at the officeworks on pitt st in Sydney. Plenty of stock no problems

    • +2

Did you offer him a massage? Or some pain killers?

    • +2

Maybe you should have lessened your grip…

    • Showing $18 now

  • Will try today.

  • +1

do you get $16 cash back from Microsoft regardless of the purchase price?

    • +2

Yes. It's based off MS' RRP.

      • Thank You.

do you know if the 800 has the switches to lift it up from the desk, so it is not lying flat on the table? I am not sure the name of the component exactly.

        • +2

Keyboard stands/stilts are included - check out any of the highly rated reviews on YouTube.

    • +2

Yes doesn't matter what you pay.

  • I don't know what's going on, but I click on the link, then don't see the things supposedly on sale. I can't see Kaspersky, the cam, or the keyboard.

  • +3

When I click the link it forces me to the 'store in my state' and price is $22 ?

  • same here

  • same here

  • +1

Good deal OP I'm loving my 800 got late Dec from bing Lee $3 after cash back. I even prefer the mouse to my old 3500 mouse

  • Kaspersky PURE 3.0… Am I to assume this is a year worth? There seems to be no details… Nor do I see it at $6… still $12 for me.

  • Can you claim more than 1?
Do you just get two receipts?

  • Not that I encourage this, but what's stopping you returning the product after your claim the cash back?

    • the cashback isnt until March, so unless the store will accept returns outside of two months.. also for the small amount of cashback (and only on 3 items)..

      • So they actually check the receipt with the retailer?

  • cheaper than my coffee…

    • This remind me it's Monday morning now…

  • Still $22

Is anyone getting it at $18 yet?

(D'oh! Never mind, the deal starts on Tuesday the 20th….)

    • The ad shows today and tomorrow.
      Still see $22

      • So it does.

        • says $22 on front page but link to the product is $18

  • And if you're a company, you can claim 30% on the receipt price & make a profit (of around $3 each)!

  • So even though the ad says $18 the store website says $22?
Anyone picked one up and price paid today?

    • +1

Price now working for $18 online.

  • Price is updated to $18 now :)

  • It is $18 for me. I have ordered one.

  • So does Price match OW they should take 5% off the $18?

  • called OW customer service number and got them to price match it. however they pricematched it based on the delivery price of $18.36. paid $17.44 over the phone for it to be delivered by tomorrow.

    thanks OP

  • +1

Good buying at $18 and a great deal/steal for $2 - great quality as Microsoft hardware generally is - I bought 3 units from OW before Xmas at $4 each - ripped off! they work fine, happy with how they function. The keyboard has one key you can program to run a shortcut (with the included software).

  • +1

Got one from OW - $17.10 (price guarantee)

    Microsoft cashback submitted!

    Thanks OP

  • I am just confused if the price is $18 and we deduct 40% cashback which Microsoft is giving then aren't we technically paying $10 bucks for the keyboard. How does it come to $2 after cashback?

    • +2

      40% off (not MSY's price, but the) RRP of $39.95 = $16.00
      https://www.microsoft.com.au/cashback/

      • so then whats with the $2 after cash back?

        • +1

you pay $18 from MSY, get $16 cash back = $2 spending on the MS Wireless KB and Mouse..
          :)

        • -1

@iamtezr: so no matter I get it $18 I just have to put the receipt number. wont microsoft come to know of what we I have actually paid from the receipt as we have to upload the receipt on their cashback claim form.

        • +2

          @chris104:
It doesn't matter how much you paid for it.
The cashback for this model is $16 (40%) from their RRP price which is $39.95
          :)

    • As above.

    • If you read this very thread you will see that its 40% off the RRP not what you paid for it. You will get $16 cash back even if you managed to find this item on sale for $10.

  • +3

Called Punchbowl OW and checked stock, then told him I will be price matching MSY, he said we'll check it when you get here.
When I went, they had it already checked and ready for me at checkout.
In and out in 5 minutes.

    Spoke to Hung, legend!

    • Good men.

  • Is the Headset 3000 any good?

    • +1

I had a chance to try one of these sets. Sound quality is very good for the price and the microphone is exceptional-not bad at cancelling noise and puts through quite a clear signal.

      • thanks

Ultimo has a 2 meter high stack of keyboards

  • +2

I managed to get it price matched at OW Queens St Melb CBD for $ 17.10. I saw a guy next to me at the counter grabbing 5 of these lol.

  • Hating the mouse so far, the clicks are too loud and annoying for my liking, keyboard is nice and silent.
Mouse isn't as smooth to move around if you have one if the very thin rubber mouse pads

    • +1

the mouse is a loud clicker. I have one a the office -which is great to have a loud clicker as I sound productive. but at home when it is night and every one is sleeping and I'm using it then I get complaints about the clicking.

  • price matched OW pitt st for the nighthawk r7000. $160.55
    (they had it for $269!!)

  • -2

Everyone sure that $16 back and not 40% of $18?

    • Yes. 40% off RRP. It's in the T&C. Have a look.

  • +1

  • Got two from Ultimo for work…. Thanks OP, such a great bargain.

  • Going to OW to get one.
1st time trying pricematch, what do I need? Just print out the MSY price?
    Thanks.

    • +2

Nothing. Just go in and tell them. Most likely other people have already price matched it, so they will just give it to you. otherwise, they will just jump onto Msy website and check themselves. No need to print anything..:)

  • Does anyone know exactly what time the MSY sale price ($18) expires or is at midnight tonight, like Dick Smith sales?

    • +1

      possible sold out before then?

  • -2
