$599 from dick smith with a $40 sim and 3 months spotify access, any issues, take it back to dick smith for a refund, easy.

  • I was looking at Android-Enjoyed recently and decided against purchasing from them due to too many unfavorable reports. YMMV

edit: Another thing I also read about them was their prices were in US$, but I couldn't confirm this.

I was waiting for the price to drop below $500 for the 32GB version, looks like it is holding up as JB Hifi still selling for $699.

32GB Version (3GB RAM) spec is very impressive: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_mate7-6543.php
    Waiting for price drop..

    • wow its like htc one max

  • $569 at DWI - http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Huawei-Ascend-Mat…

Free shipping, a little bit cheaper, never ordered anything from android enjoyed but have got stuff from DWI in the past, no complaints. Also they had some special come up when I went to the website giving $5 off orders over $100 so you get that as well.

    • +1

The OnePlus one is a better option from DWI or whom ever you fancy. You can also get it from OnePlus themselves as they have a limited sale on the 20th of Jan where the store will offer both phones with out any invites. As expected the N American store open bw 7-9pm EST. Though last time their servers crashed, so I wouldnt hold my breath.

The only thing better is the LTE Cat6 and possible dual sim option although that is more future proofing.

they say - We are Australian - proudly Australian Owned. so why are the items GST free?

  • One of the best phone I used so far. Bought it from JB HIFI for the premium version (3GB RAM, 32gb). The one at Dicksmith is lower spec one but still more than enough for daily usage. It definitely on par with other flagship phones on the market. The best part is the battery 4100mAh which can easily last me two days.

Huawei has the worst in support for their phones. Got the original Ascend Mate and they have not done any updates past 4.2.2. It had like ONE update in its lifetime ever from 4.1.2. Would not recommend this phone at this price. Better off with getting other Chinese brands.

    • +1

Exactly my thought, the update service and support is very small or almost nonexistent. I dont know about these "high end" models, but in general, if you want to update to the latest android versions or get better features or even solve some issues, you will have to rely on independent developers to do something.

      • +1

I already had 2 updates on Mate 7. Not saying they are the best support out there but they are improving.

        • With a locked bootloader, which goes against the GNU open licence btw, Huawei has very poor developer support. No one can do much as the kernels are not released.

  • Please google it, MT7-TL09 is not the one on sale at DSE or HN. They are selling MT7-TL10 model.

  • How is Huawei devices' build quality?

    • I am on my third Huawei - a G526 - after previously having (and passing on to relatives) an Ideos 8150 and then a G300+.

Have not had a (build quality) problem with any of them, and as far as value for money - probably get another Huawei when time to upgrade.

Just don't expect Android upgrades - which in many cases, if your phone needs are pretty basic, are vastly over-rated.

      • Have to disagree with you,Upgrades to firmware are vital as smartphones have a lot of personal data. Yours and those of your contacts. A lot of Android phones have security vulnerabilities which are not patched. Samsung is almost as bad in this regard specially as far as Australia is concerned. I have an N8020 LTE tablet and the last firmware issued for it in Australia has the Heartbleed bug

        https://bluebox.com/technical/heartbleed-bug-impacts-mobile-…

I use the French software issued for the same, but with Huawei and a lot of MediaTek devices these updates are missing.

That is why you need a phone with good developer support. I personally prefer Cyanogenmod but each to their own.

The specs may look impressive but really this is yet another low to average quality Chinese brand which as others have mention have woeful support for their phones. Don't expect this to get an update to lollipop. Way too much to be spending on a brand of this ilk.

    • This one is very good even G526 is not bad for that price.

Do you know Huawei is the number 3 phone manufacturer in the world?

      • Not saying this manufacturer is one or the other, though quality and quantity can be very different stories altogether.

Well I'd buy /bought a near flawless One+ at the same time Huawei is hard to go past at the low end (Y550<$80 <- get one as backup). I look forward to an Android 5 future.
