Could be a good time to buy before the dollar plummets further.

    • +1

Technology always depreciates in value. In 3 years time, we will be using 256gb micro cards.

  • Thanks! Just got a note 4 today too :)

  • That is some shitty $/gb for the 64gb pro but it's the only one I want.

  • How much for 128GB?

  • +12

Am kind of new to this… but might be a dupe? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/181139

    • -5

That deal only listed one product which wasn't any of these.
      if anything he copied tightarse

      • +5

How can Rakddon (OP of above quoted deal) copy TA when Rakddon posted first?

        • +3

Rakddon edited his deal after Tightarse posted this deal.

        • +1

          @holden93:

Ah. Didn't notice the revision to acknowledge TA's post.

Based on the latest revision this seems more like a dupe but only because of copy and pasting done…wonder what is going to happen…

        • @holden93:

Cheers, exactly why I asked :)

  • +2

Are the pro ones worth the extra bucks?

    • +9

If you're going to chuck them into a phone and never pull it out then no.

If it's going into a camera where you'll be transferring to to your computer many times then it could potentially be worth it.

If it's going into a higher-end camera that can take 5fps RAW or something like that, then yes it is definitely worth it.

Just did a quick speed test check using crystaldiskmark (with lexar professional usb3 card reader). 50Mb file

      Megabytes read per second
      32Gb Samsung EVO : Read 44.31 Write 23.71
      64Gb Samsung EVO : Read 44.36 Write 22.05
      64Gb Samsung PRO : Read 85.79 Write 78.21

Please note these are just test runs with files already on the cards — thought I'd do a quick test just to demonstrate to people… IOPS is also not included which can be a very important factor depending on what device you plan to use the card in.. Ie. 32gb EVO has less drops outs than 64gb EVO in a BMPCC but all samsung cards I have drop out in raw mode no matter how fast the writing is.

      • +6

Hi, can you confirm with 'Pro' you were using. It's really annoying that Samsung has two 'Pro' lines of MicroSD cards out there.

The ones on sale here are from the older, slower Pro range. Based on your results above, it looks like you might be testing one of the newer ones.

        • +18

The one I am using is the newer pro MB-MG64D (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Pro-MB-MG64D-Class10-microSDXC…)

Edit : Actually clicked on the link to see the one they are selling and yes, it is the older slower one that they are flogging (recoils). Apologies for the confusion and thank you for the pickup.

Just so happens I also have the older 64gb edition that is being sold… And here are the results….

          Read Rate : 83.93 Write Rate: 28.69

@digitalaxon: Well done that man! :)

        • +5

          @digitalaxon:

Huge difference. It really annoys me when manufacturers don't distinguish clearly between products when there is clearly a big difference in performance.

  • +13

I do like tightarse's post better than mine though.

So I wouldn't mind if Mods close my post.

  • +1

So how do I pre-order the 64GB pro?

  • -3

Evo 64gb Bit cheaper on ebayhttp://m.ebay.com.au/itm/201275501707?nav=SEARCH

    • +8

Lots of fakes on ebay though

      • How do you spot, or find out if your card is fake?

  • -5

Does the EVO mean it'll be fast? Never heard of that one…

I'll wait for the Samsung WRX thanks

  • +1

It wont allow me to get the free shipping, i got it working once, but now the code won't apply… Does anybody have the code so i can just write it in?

    • FASTEVO

      • Not working :/

EDIT: Tried a few times with another browser, if you go through the paypal checkout it doesn't work (at least it didn't for me) I had to select regular then choose paypal.

  • MSY doesn't seem to have any stock of the 32GB EVO.

  • +2

Is the EVO fast enough for GoPro Hero 4 (Silver)?

  • Delivery only, no pickup :(

  • I would say you save 67% on 64GB Evo, but this is still a good price. I was looking the other day and most Aus retailers were about $80… I bought from amazon for $38- , but now I got to wait…

  • +1

The 32GB Sandisk Ultra is good value at 70% off too. slightly more expensive than the Samsung evo, but 10 year warranty compared to 1 year from Samsung.

    • +1

Samsung website says the Evo has a 10 year warranty.

      • Scratch my comment, the Samsung ones have free shipping, the sandisk one doesn't. So the Samsung ones work out to be much cheaper.

  • I bought 2x of the $8.99 16GB MicroSD Evos, just a couple of weeks ago for $9.96 each (not on sale). So I'm not sure why anyone would buy from MSY. It only arrived yesterday. They come from Hong Kong in normal paper envelopes, wrapped in sticky tape to prevent the envelope tearing.

    • -5

Most Professionals wouldn't buy from MSY or Hong Kong because of the high chance of getting a fake, they would buy from Shopping Express ebay site.
Samsung Evo 16gb standard price is $9.70.
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331283964133?var=540473939138&ssP…

      • I've bought from MSY several times before and they were genuine in retail packs.

      • Since when do msy have a reputation for selling fake SD cards? I've been buying memory from them for years, always test it as soon as I get it, and its always genuine.

        • Sorry I only meant Hong Kong, not MSY.

  • Are any of the SD cards at shooppingexpress good value at the moment? Need one for my Nikkon D3200 bought via the deal on here yesterday.

  • Bought the 64GB evo last weekend during their Australia Day sale (same price). Arrived today.

  • Buying a 64GB from these guys now for the 3DS.
Received my card last time very quickly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

  • -3

Not a bargain. I paid $18.85 delivered for my 32GB Evo back in early December. Bought off eBay from AU seller.

    • 10 cents cheaper when the AUD was higher and it's most likely a fake.

I'd say this is still a deal.

  • Is the evo goo enough to be used as an additional storage in laptop? Thank

  • I paid $9.00 for 32GB in August. All of these seems pricy in comparison. ;)

  • Thanks TA for yet another great deal.

    I bought the 32GB PRO ($22.95).

But when it arrives, how do I transfer my existing files (especially the keys for stuff I've paid for) from the old card to the new one?

  • I have just recently purchased a note 4, which version of the 64 gb (evo or pro) should I get. Thanks

    • +1

The Evo will be more than good enough. I'd only buy the pro for use in a high end camera.

  • will either of these be okay in a gopro hero4 silver?

  • +2

For most phones evo should be good enough… For gopro I'd recommend pro

  • Cheers TA, secured the 64, now I can be a cinematographer: @ 4K DCI on last year's ONePlus
Finally brought up to 128gb used in a Colorful AndroidRobot/USB OTG reader $1
This card delivers in both areas, fast class 10 transfer speeds 23mb read, 15mb write but also 482 write IOPs and 1668 read IOPs.

So just superb for flagship devices.

  • How do these compare to the Sandisk Ultras (the cheap ones) for use in a smart phone?

    • +2

      From review on Amazon:

      Samsung EVO Class 10
      Sequential Read : 23.568 MB/s

      Random Read 512KB : 23.056 MB/s
      Random Write 512KB : 21.477 MB/s
      Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 6.702 MB/s [ 1636.2 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.609 MB/s [ 392.8 IOPS]
      Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 7.376 MB/s [ 1800.8 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.389 MB/s [ 339.2 IOPS]

      Sandisk Ultra Class 10
      Sequential Read : 31.053 MB/s
      Sequential Write : 13.109 MB/s
      Random Read 512KB : 27.086 MB/s
      Random Write 512KB : 0.574 MB/s
      Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 3.217 MB/s [ 785.5 IOPS]

      Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 3.073 MB/s [ 750.1 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.419 MB/s [ 346.5 IOPS]

distinctly faster operations +recordable inside 1hour.

      • Dammit, I just stupidly bought the Sandisk from MSY for $48. Thanks though :)

  • What should I get for a Target Dash Cam? Thanks :)

    • I am returning my Target Dash Cam today, the picture becomes blurry when it heats up, but the Samsung Evo should work for any dash cam.

      • Maybe just tuck it away somewhere appropriate and use it as a home security camera…was cheap enough.

  • do these come with a sd card adapter?

  • i've got a lexar 64gb micro card for my go pro.. went with this one as it was recommended for the go pros..

anyone know if this will be alright for my new go pro 4 silver?

  • THANKS got one for my new 3ds feb 13. Was just looking for one of these

  • are these good for SLR cameras that take fullsize SD cards? (i presume these come with an adaptor)

  • Yeap, looks like the SDXC card package comes with adapter -

  • It appears the free postage includes insurance.

  • brought one for a phone

    • +4

      Brought it where ?

  • Nice prices! Bestie just got a new phone and wants to expand its storage.

And if the rep is around/reading this, any specials for the Sandisk Extreme USB range (the CZ80s) in the coming future? Another friend is interested in getting a fast usb drive for his work.

Standard shipping on mine… So no tracking…

So much for the $8~ discount on shipping at checkout…

    • Same for me, std auspost mail!

  • Anyone received any of these yet?

I ordered on 30/1 and still not here. No tracking on website either.

    • Not yet, I thought I would have it today. Ordered on 31/1, shipped on 4/2.

  • Wondering the same thing, have not received mine at 6-FEB.

    • received Monday 9-FEB.

  • I haven't received mine either.

  • i have not received mine either… ordered 31/1. have sent them an inquiry

  • Received mine on Friday

    • still have not received a reply to my message sent at 8am this morning. seems that i should have paid more attention to Shoppingexpress's rating on here. will remember for next time.

      • Still haven't got mine, but they replied to my enquiry. Just said that they use austpost and to wait longer and if it's not here by thursday they will investigate.

  • Anyone else have a blank sticker covering the 10 year warranty?

    • Yep

    • Changed awhile back. Samsung limiting their liabilities.

  • Mine still hasn't shown up and I ordered on 30/1 :(

Getting a bit disillusioned with aussie sellers, it usually costs more and takes longer to arrive than if I ordered from overseas.

  • Is anyone having trouble with their cards? I ordered a 64Gb Evo which was delivered nearly a week ago. It only worked for a few hours before it suddenly decided it needed to be reformatted, and it has done it again several times since.

Now I can't even format it, just get cyclic redundancy check errors. Not recognizable on PC or tablet.

I contacted Shopping Express a few days ago but no response yet.

Just me or is there a bad batch of cards?

    • At least you got yours. Mine still hasn't arrived. First and last time I buy from Shopping Express.
Having said that, if they are dodgy or fake, maybe I'm better off that it never shows up. It will be a simple refund :)

      • Are you planning on using this for the Gateway?

        • I wasn't, why?

I was actually planning on using it in my Rhea in my Sega Saturn.
I've already got a 64GB Evo in my Gateway :)

        • @chromium:
Nah just been waiting for N3DSXL compatibility for 2 months now.

    • I received my 64GB EVO a couple weeks ago. I've been using it in my GoPro 4 without any issues.

  • Mine hasn't arrived yet either.
The last time I bought from Shopping Express, I got it in a day or two.
This time is taking almost 2 weeks.

  • Found this forum posting as well - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/180883

  • i still have not received mine either. tried emailing them and both emails got bounced back

  • Ordered 31 jan, still haven't received it.

  • Received the micro sd card this afternoon. Have been using it all day and have had no problems. The packaging was very good and the product (imo) seems genuine.

  • I've lodged a Paypal dispute today as I haven't received anything and haven't received a reply to my inquiry regarding this.

  • Same here. Been 10 days and yet to receive my order. No response from email either.
