  • I remember seeing something like this a few years ago. You could only watch whats being viewed on the sender/main TV. Has the technology changed ever since? Can you view another channel that's not being viewed on the sender TV?

    • Nup. That requires another set top box.

    • There is no way to do this

  • I wouldn't buy these.

    I have tried numerous 5.8GHz senders and never had any luck.

    I went and purchased a 2.4GHz unit and hand never had any problems with it or it getting in the way of my wifi

    • The 2.4GHz I have does not work well with WIFI or when Microwave is used.

  • i own these. 2 storey house
    works fine.

  • I've got both a 2.4Ghz and a 5.8Ghz unit - 2.4Ghz is hopeless, if you have a cordless phone, wifi and a couple of bluetooth mobiles (or cordless keyboards / mice etc) the signal gets swamped making the item usless, 5.8Ghz frequency is less crowded and works much better in the "modern" home.

  • What is the brand name of the 5.8GHz Dual Input AV Sender & Receiver being advertised on catchoftheday?
    Thanks,
    Varun

  • Also, Aldi had something similar in Aug 2009 which was 11 AUD more expensive.
    ( AV Sender and Receiver $ 89
    * 5.8Ghz transmission frequency
    * Four channels
    * LED indicator
    * Dual input allows two devices to be connected simultaneously via Scart (Pay TV or DVD player)
    * IR remote control)

    That begets the question- which brand is the one being sold at catch of the day?

  • have no idea… just saw the price and i thought its cheaper.. today I saw on big W and Dick Smith catalogues in my mailbox, it costs about 100+.. Not sure if they are from the same manufacturer… but the functions mentioned are also similar…

    DSE - From Cocoon, $138…
    Big W - From WINPLUS, $134…
