    Sockpuppeting deserves a ban

    • Detective lakers1222, how did you find out sockpuppeting?

    • How exactly is this spam?? I'm confused.

Hey rep does these come in white?

  • B&H have it cheaper. 1tb hdd not 256gb ssd though.

USD though (~AU$1930), and shipping is US$130.

      • +1

Yeah, just saw that and was about to comment. Damn, the SSD I got from them was no where near that. Better to get the center com one.

      • +2

It's more expensive. Works out to be AUD ~2300.

    • +4

You'll get taxed importing things over $1000 too

    • And warranty? Can't compare local warranty to intl.

Looking at staticice.com.au it is the best price available at the moment for Aus stock.

    • +3

A 'bargain' is different to 'best price available.'

Otherwise you could post absolutely any item in existence and just because it's the best price available at this point in time

Bargain is in the eye of the beholder

      • And you are welcome to. The voting system will determine which are bargains.

The MSI Ghost is much slimmer.

Rep, when was this model released?

  • +7

This must be the Rep's own laptop that he used for a year… and now flogging it off as 'new'… this is CentreCON afterall!

    • Eh, I wouldn't worry. The 4710HQ wasn't launched till 14/04/2014. The rep must've used it for under 9mo, so defo still under warranty! :D :D :D

  • I'm looking for a new laptop

I need it to do the following:

    1. MS office
    2. read email
    3. browse internet
    4. play tetris online

    is this suitable?

    cheers

You probably need to over lock the GPU for Tetris. For 1-3, just forget them. They are too power demanding. You need a Pentium 166MMX at least.

    • Yes. This will do those things for many years to come.

    • Trololol

    • For no. 4 use your gameboy. forget online

  • I'm in the hunt for a desktop replacement 17.3 i7in the $1k price range. Had a Asus X750JN-TY050H in mind but they seem to be out of stock and anyone who had one is overpriced.

  • Not a bad laptop, if it just was a decent company I would consider it

    • +5

if it just was a decent company

      What's wrong with Asus ?

      • Not apple?

        • +3

I suspect Centrecom is the issue, rather than Asus.

        • @jackspratt: Yup. I too think that is the case.

      • Poor customer service. I've been there…

    • yep.. too many bad raps.

      pass!!!!

  • Decent price for decent specs.
Can get a similar Clevo for around $2k

  • MSI laptop similar specs (no SSD and only 8GB) for $1999:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-GT70-2QD-2408-GAMING-LAPTOP-1…

    • Nice! I might get one…

  • The Asus G751Jy was $2800 before Xmas - but since then the AUD has tanked

I prefer the Asus G751Jy because it has:

    32 gb RAM
    500gb SSD
    GTX 980m

  • The MSI can do matrix display out of the box. Can the ASUS do the same?

    • Do what? Matrix can mean many things…

      • Nvidia surround. MSI has DPx2 HDMIx1 plus laptop screen. Can ASUS do 4 monitors?

        • +1

The DP+ protocol supports multiple monitors from 1 port. Loop through.

    • From Affordable Laptops?

      • YES FROM AFFORDAble laptops but i suggest using logical blue as i have heard they have better customer service product will be same .not so happy with communication by affordable laptops

        • No, reading on Whirlpool, quite the opposite. I've found Affordable to be very trust worthy and don't push to close sales.

        • @noone025: i read that affordable is bit cheaper coz they cut on customer service. after ordering it took few days to receive the email then if u call the number its just a voicemail telling u to wait.no one cares there.

          @Fixmyi:
I spend a lot of time on Whirlpool, I've spoken to Affordable on the phone. Very helpful, no hard sell.

They're both small businesses, have a look here for some bad experiences.

Not to say you cant get good service at both, but I will be likely buy from AL in the future.

I expect yours will go well, but I have seen more positive feedback to AL than bad. LBO tend to do slightly better sales (as in discounts).
