It works but is a bit tricky! You need to collect a redemption code via the Apple Store app - here is how to do it:

  • In the 'Apple Store' App (not App Store where it is full price).
  • On the 'featured' page, scroll down slowly (note; it is also listed under the 'Gallery' area but tapping it there takes you to the full price app store).
  • Just under the image of the iPhone 6 you will see 'Download Slow Shutter free*' , tap the link.
  • This will take you to another screen; at the bottom tap the green bar 'Download now for free'.
  • That will swap you to the App Store now and yet another screen where you need to redeem the coupon by taping the 'Redeem' in the upper right corner.
  • Only then will it allow you to download it for free.

          It might seem like semantics but you actually have to go to the Apple Store App <—- subtle but important difference.

          I meant to get it yesterday but left it until 10:57am. Instructions are clear and app is free via the offer on the Apple Store App.

      I had the same issue on my iPad. As BeeOhBee said below, the app is designed for iPhone, and the offer only appears when running the Apple Store app from an iPhone.

      It worked exactly as described when I followed instructions on my iPhone.

      OP/Mods, can we please get the description updated to state that Apple Store app must be run from an iPhone?

    Won't work on iPad, but the "download" link showed up on iPhone Apple Store app. Makes sense, slow shutter is designed for iPhones. Good find OP.

    * On the "Featured" tab, scroll down a bit to find "Download Slow Shutter free*" entry. Click it
    * At the bottom of the next page (see attached image), click "Download now for free"
    * It will then take you to itunes store to redeem a code to get the "Slow Shutter" app for free

      I have no "Featured" tab in my "Apple Store" app on my iPad?
      There's tabs
      "Apple"(icon), Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, Accessories, Stores
      Apple icon & click "View More" Scroll down gives iPhone 6 & Slow shutter
      click that takes me to app store $2.49
      A little help please?
