  • Great show.

Won't give +1 though due to the complexities in getting this (NTSC etc).. Also if paying with PayPal it will cost more due to their conversion rate ;)

If you can handle all those things though, a very good price

    • most dvd players sold in australia can play region 1 dvds and most new tvs support ntsc. in fact, there are dvds sold in Australia which haven't been 'upscaled' and remain in their original format (ntsc).

most but not all - some go all crappy when you try and use the codes to get them to be region free (achem Samsung achem) and some require you to use a pre-pgrogrammed third party remote to unlock some of their more recent prodects (cough Sony cough). That said, my 9 year old region free Pioneer player is still going strong and we order from Amazon all the time. Box set deals like this come around with greater frequency in region one titles, and often the actual discs are of higher quality than the region four sets we get here - for example the Angel complete series in region 4 had absolutely shockingly bad DVDs that were chipping around the edges, scratched, and some that wouldn't play properly.

Considering the best deal that I'm aware of for the full ten seasons of Stargate here in Australia is over $300, this deal is brilliant as long as your DVD player can handle region 1 discs.

On my PCs I use DVD43 to avoid the region locking after four changes that some companies put into their DVD burner firmware.

Actually, check out the Amazon reviews.

          For example.

Stargate SG-1 is awesome, unfortunately the quality of this set is horrifying!

          And another.

I hope this was a one-time error (and I'm certainly going to be returning my copy of this set), but almost every single disc in the collection came through dirty, scratched, or both.

There are dozens more like this.

After problems with first couple of discs, I inspected the entire set & found at least 15 discs that are dirty, scratched over entire surface or deeply pitted. This did not happen during shipping- they came from the Factory like this.

Be wary; overseas returns would be difficult in this situation.

          • @TimeOrMoney: Hmmm… well, just more encouragement for people to download these instead of buying them, then. Well done for catching those comments - sounds just like the Angel complete series tin I got here.

  • +1 great deal. if i didnt already own all the seasons i would purchase the complete collection

I bought a Buffy complete series boxed set from a similar deal on Amazon and saved hundreds of dollars - it was at least 2 years before you could get anything here for a similar price (and only at JB online). Great deal, +ve from me.

  • don't think you can use paypal from amazon can you? you can also choose to pay in AUD and they do the currency conversion for you at a good rate. bought a SQL book from them last night…

Online stores' currency conversion is usually inferior to major credit card rates (although not always the case). When I ordered from Amazon UK, using the Amazon Currency Converter would have cost a few dollars more.
