Needs to be calibrated every 6 months. How much is calibration and where is it done?

    • We only recommend buying Breathalyser that can be re-calibrated. This is the only way to ensure accurate reading after the device is being use for 6 months or over 200 test, which ever come first.
Device that cant be re-calibrated, might produce false reading or inaccuracy after a while.

the cost need to be check directly at Andatech, as we do not have access to calibration service.
If not mistaken its between $35-55. In Victoria this can be done at Vermont.

Other state, please contact us or Andatech directly.

      • Thanks.

Agree that a breathalyser that can't be calibrated is useless. Nice to have an idea of the ongoing costs for a device like this.

or just ..you know …don't drink & drive ….these aren't a legal aid …you can't say "but my breathalyzer said i was under"

    • scorpweb,

      We totally agree.
      Do not drink and drive.

Breathalyser is normally use the next day after having a drink. Alcohol takes few hours before its cleared form our system. Brethalyser will help double check whether there is still alcohol within body and whats the level.
This is like scorpweb states, not to be use to drink, test and drive.

      Drive safely and responsibly.

FYI - "5 mouthpieces supplied"… then $25 for 50-pack replacement. (Doesn't come in smaller packs)

    • If for personal use, you can wash the mouth piece Hygienically and re use.
Just make sure its clean, dry and no residue.

  • "Sensor Type: Semiconductor sensor" Professional testers use fuel cells instead of semiconductor sensors, as these cheaper sensors can give wildly inaccurate readings. They react to ingredients in toothpaste for example, meaning your reading will be wildly inflated after brushing teeth (no mouthwash).

    • Fuel Cell sensor is better as Cluster mentioned.
With semiconductor sensor, semi conductor sensor sometime does a false reading.
This can be controlled by rinsing mouth with water, wait a few minutes and do the test.

Reading between 0.00% - 0.40%BAC will be quite accurate.

  • I'll never understand the point of this.

Even if this used fuel cells its completely useless.

You can easily drink, read 0.04, drive and then then read 0.06 and lose your license.

So if that can happen, then whats the point? If you want to have fun you can get one cheaper then $99
