  • It says:
New customers only. To qualify for the 20,000 BONUS POINTS, you must apply online via the email we sent you about this offer and be approved by 31 March 2015, and make one eligible transaction on your Coles MasterCard within 30 days after card approval.
it may not work for everyone, only if they sent you the email

  • FlyBuy, no thanks.

    • +4

Curious to know why? I have heard from many people that they don't like flybuys. But if you get coles credit card and depending on which one, it either gives you two points per dollar or one point. It includes all purchases including BPAY, I have accumulated more than $500 in one year.

      • And also triple points for every dollar spent on Coles car insurance per car policy.three cars = heaps of points = savings

    • Free $100 - yes please.

  • +3

i got an email but for a different offer…get $100 worth of milk for a year! lol

    • You must buy a lot of milk?

      • actually i buy A2 milk brand, not coles. lol

        • You know where milk comes from right ….where do they keep the A2 cows…

        • +2

@crohns: Oh come on, you can't present the question like that without an answer. Tell us where do they keep their milkssss

        • @crohns:

haha good point but i would like to think the A2 cows are better than the Coles cows nonetheless.
          lol

    • +1

Same, I got one except I got a gold class movie package. 2 gold class tickets plus $20 food package (which will not get you far at Gold Class).

  • Great deal, absolutely. But the reason people don't like FlyBuys is because they track what you buy. And through that avenue they can target specific advertising tailored to their target market. I suppose if you use Facebook it's kind of the same thing. There's a an episode on "the checkout" about this. Good deal though

I'm not phased by personalised marketing, what's better then a sales catalogue with only things you buy.

It's not like I'm buying dildos or fleshlights, so I'm not hiding anything.

      • +5

50x bonus flybuys on all fleshlights

      • homebrand dildo?

      • So you want to cancel that order you made last night? You know there is a 20% restocking fee on the inflatable sheep, right?

    • Who cares about targeted advertising - it's called ADBLOCK and JUNK EMAIL.

    • +2

      they track what you buy

Omg I bought some caged eggs the other day

  • How do I manage if I want to do a balance transfer but need to do a transaction in order to get the points?

    • +1

make the purchase, pay off the balance
      then do the BT

      • -1

can you link this credit card to your existing flybuys or do you get a new flybuys account?

        • You link them if you already have Flybuys. They even print your Flybuys barcode on the credit card so you needn't carry your Flybuys card anymore

  • I just noticed for the Rewards card:

    2 points per $2 you spend everywhere#

I'm not sure if that's a typo or if it's intentionally changed. When you go compare the cards, it shows:

    2 points per $1 you spend everywhere1

    • That is platinum with $59 annual fee.

      • What are you on about? They're both $49.00

        • What are you on about? One has annual fee and one is free, it pays to read.

        • @nadan: I'm talking about the rewards one (right hand side) on this deal's page and the other page I linked. You need some of your own advice.

    I've done well off flybuys.

Signed up for this last time got 20k points. Eligible for bonus points.
Signed up for coles car insurance… Got my policy for only $241 per year (brand new car) and bonus flybuys points worth $60 per year.
Signed up to cheapest coles life insurance poly ($4.60 per month for 50k coverage) got a bonus 20k points also get bonus flybuys of $60 a year so (or $5 per month - so I'm technically being paid to have this policy).

So I get 4.5 points per dollar (minimum) and spend over 1k per month on groceries. Accumulated 100k points in the last year and just traded in for $500 jbhifi voucher.

    • Just checked life insurance out. For me is $11/month. Not economical.
But if I shave 20 years off my age it becomes $4.40/month. Could be worth just to get the 20000 points…no use for the insurance.

    • +1

sounds like coles are doing well off you!

    • +2

Just note all the $60 per year for life insurance and car insurance etc is conditional on how much you spend at Coles (excluding any sign up bonusses). To get it you need to spend $1000 per month at coles. If you don't shop at Coles you get nothing. Its working great for us as we do around $800 on average at Coles per month.

  • Mate, you are really good!
I am doing very well out of Flybuys, but you are better!
I did not know about the life insurance
It is great they are actually paying you to have it!
Must have a look at it.

    • Well it looks like it's "free" for the first year because the bonus points are a one-off.

      • I got 20k points sign up bonus.. and it's $4.60 per month. Because I get bonus flybuys points for having life insurance, I get $60 in vouchers each year (just for having the insurance).

So it costs me $55.20 to have the policy, butI get $60 worth of groceries, so I'm a whopping $4.80 per year better off (plus my one off bonus of $100).

        • Oh really? I didn't know that sorry. How do you get the bonus points every year though? Are they from the mail coupons?

      • Not only free. It actually is cash flow positive the first year because of the 20000 bonus point (=$100).
Then you cancel it when you get the renewal the year after.

  • I applied last week and got an email that said conditional approval. Is it too late to get this promo ?

    • +1

Just cancel and re-apply, they told me that they can't change the code as it is a flybuys offer.

      • Cheers

  • My email was offering a $100 Target gift card, Hmm….

  • I have got email with all three option - target $100, 20K points or gold movie ticket+$20food. Can chose any!
    Thinking about getting 20k points.

  • To everyone who got different offers (eg. Target, movie ticket, etc) did you get the same code (20kbp1)?

    • each reward had a different code.

  • I'm guessing if they sent me the movie ticket offer then I can't use this offer as its linked to my account?

  • Is anyone able to interpret the T&C's and translate? I would like to know what an 'eligible transfer' is :).

  • -1

I got a deal emailed last week, sign up to life insurance for one month or more and get 20,000 flybuy points not bad.

  • Do you mean you only have to pay for 1 month, collect the 20000 points and then cancel? I thought you enter into a contract for at least 1 year and you have to pay the first year as a minimum.

    • "pay the first year as a minimum"
Take the no annual fee card, what is there to pay?

  • You get an extra 20000 points for buying coles life insurance. Not sure if you have to pay it for a whole year or pay monthly and cancel once you get the points

    • +1

after you pay one month the points are credited within 45 days. ive noticed a loophole in the coles system, i booked accommodation which had cancel any time free through webjet and got flybuys found cheaper later to cancelled still got the points and it was triple and 2000 so about 7000 points, i had a deal where me and my partner signed up to medibank and paid premiums for 3 months i would get 70,000 points did it cancelled after one month to test and still got the points

  • Has anybody been able to confirm whether this will work if you didn't get the email?

    • I applied I did not get email. Hoping will be rewarded, but I will save another way too by making blance transfer will save $20 per month as I keep my money in home loan account up to due date. If you not have keep in saving account will save $15 per month up to 18 months.

  • I applied as a new customer using the coupon code "20kbp1" and just made a purchase last week.

    Haven't received my 20k points yet :-(

    • I also applied using the code "20kbp1" and have made multiple purchases on the card. Still have not received my 20,000 flybuys points either.

      • A bit late but the 20,000 bonus points will only be credited to qualifying accounts after the offer end date (31st March) but within 6 weeks… so keep an eye on your April statement!

        • Just received my points today.

  • still waiting for the flybuys points, did anyone receive the points?

  • Does anyone here answer their phone? Called twice to enquire and both times hold music stops and after a while phone disconnects…

  • received mine too, thanks op

  • Got mine too!
Looks like they are distributing the bonus points from this week onwards.

    • Did you guys receive the promo email?

      • Nope. Applied through here from OP's link. Code got verified and went through the application normally.
