  • 3 left after I bought one for $39 from Target at Warringah Mall.

I plug these into my computer, and it doesn't even power on… :-(

    • If you're on Windows, have you installed the drivers for it? Was mentioned in a previous post.

      • Yeah I went looking for the drivers, but you have to sign up in order to download it…

Could someone please upload the drivers somewhere?

        Thanks.

  • Got mine the other day and now have it working with Kodi 14.1 on my Windows 8.1 x64 HTPC. Used the drivers mentioned previously in the comments which worked great.

Started with NextPVR as the backend but found Kodi had issues loading channels sometimes which would cause Kodi to lock up and I'd have to sign out or do a complete reboot.

Switched over to Argus TV, little bit more setup involved but was worth the effort. Channels load fine and haven't had a crash happen yet. Also allows you to stream your recordings to other devices which is a pretty cool feature.

Haven't tried dual recording/watching TV but I mainly got the tuner so I didn't have to switch over to my TV everytime I wanted to watch something on FTA. Well worth the money :)

    • What kind of specs do you have for your htpc? Find my Microserver struggles a bit - perhaps a codec issue

I'm using a microserver as well, the HP N36L. Upgraded the ram to 8 gig and also put in a low profile ATI 1 gig card. It takes a couple of seconds to switch between channels in Kodi but other than that, loads fine and runs well.

        • Interesting! Do you have the link to the specific playtv driver that you installed?

        • @atlas:

Yep I posted the mega link above for someone else. I used the 64 bit driver.

        • @messiah1095: Thanks for that.

Any chance that you could upload the PCTVDiB64.zip ?

        • @congngo:

Should be in that link. Try downloading the 32 or 64 bit folder as a zip file, then when you extract to another folder on your machine, make sure it extracts all of the files. It didn't for me the first time I tried.
