  • Good monitor but this probably doesn't count as a "bargain". If it supported FreeSync I'd probably get one… or maybe wait until a real bargain.

  • +14

I got this monitor for $663 a month ago. A quick google search find many prices much cheaper.

  • ahh tempted but will resist…i think any monitor i buy these days needs to be either Gsync or Freesync

  • Not waiting for the Acer XB270HU ?

  • Their P2715Q 27 inch 4K model was $711 the other week why would you pay more for a 144K model?

    • Because 144 > 4!

It's because some people don't want to make their video cards push more than twice the pixels for a potentially unnoticeable increase in sharpness. Also that 4k doesn't look like it comes under Ultrasharp which last time I checked means that it can have up to 3 bright pixels compared to 0 on Ultrasharp models.

    • I have a 32" 4k dell monitor at work. It has a dot pitch of 0.1816mm, the freaking dots are tiny. My U2711 at home has a 0.2335mm dot pitch, which is small but acceptable. I have tested a gtx970 @4k resolution and can get up to 30ish frames in most games, with not much gain in pic quality or sharpness. Going to a 27" 4k screen with a dot pitch of 0.1557mm would drive me insane trying to read the screen! I think the best size for 4k monitor is 40" (0.2306mm dot pitch)
