Hi,

Seeing that the previous SSD post was popular, I thought it would be a good idea to compile a couple of good SSD deals! All prices are in AUD and include delivery.

Crucial BX100 1TB for $455.55
Crucial BX100 500GB for $236.27
Crucial MX100 512GB for $239.86

Samsung EVO 850 1TB for $481.82

Let me know if you find some of these SSD cheaper elsewhere!

  • OP, I think the 850 Evo SSD comes in 500gb/1TB configs, not 512gb/1TB. (512gb is for the 850 PRO).

    • As far as I know, all these 512/500GB drives have the same capacity. For the sake of simplicity, some manufacturers use 1GB = 1000MB and get 500GB SSD, some others use 1GB = 1024MB and get 512GB (500 x 1.024 = 512)

I have edited the OP from 512GB to 500GB to avoid any confusion.

        No, that's incorrect. All HDD manufacturers use 1GB = 1000MB = 1000000KB = 1000000000B.

The Samsung 850 EVO is 500GB, whereas the Pro is 512GB.

    Gotta love Amazon arbritrage lol

ShoppingExpress is currently doing $245 delivered on the Crucial M550 512GB SSD. Isn't that a better deal over the Samsung EVO 512GB from Amazon since the Crucial M550 from ShoppingExpress comes with full Australian warranty as opposed to the Samsung EVO from Amazon only having USA warranty?. And you also get the Crucial M550 a lot quicker since it's actually Australian stock dispatched in Australia.

    • But warranty aside, which is the better drive?

      • They have very comparable performances. None shines over the other.

Well the Crucial M550 scores highly in this review and Crucial SSD are apparently quite reliable. I'd say the Crucial M550 is just as good as the Samsung EVO. But the benefit of the Crucial M550 from ShoppingExpress is that you actually get Australian warranty. Can't say the same thing for the Samsung EVO from Amazon being overseas bought stock.

    • Where is this deal that you speak of at $245?!?! I Dont see it?!!?

      • The deal was posted on Ozbargain a few days ago. Next time just do a search for ShoppingExpress on Ozbargain and you would have seen it.

        Expired yesterday.

        • Damn it. I done a search on SSD's and I did not see it.

  • Seeing as the Shopping Express deal has expired- are these still the best value?

    Lowest I can convert for a Samsung 850 512GB is $257 (from 187EUR)…

Seeing as these are italian/french Amazon sites- where is warranty?

  • Deal still available - $236.22AUD delivered for the Crucial BX100 500GB.

Isn't this a pretty good deal? Why no more votes?
