Will the price of the D7 drop anytime soon considering its age in the market or new models? I don't need one urgently and I've never spent that much for a modem.

  I have had the D7 for about 6 months. Once it was setup I haven't had to reboot it once. Great signal strength. Well worth the coin.

  Hey the Archer C2 is ok, but it only has 2 antennas for both bands - i.e one antenna for 2.4ghz, and one for 5ghz. The 5ghz having a smaller throw/area of coverage meant that in my place i basically couldn't connect to it with the 5ghz band on my dual receiver from the other end of the house. Ended up using 2.4ghz on the one antenna and it was less effective than the $20 tp link single band 2.4ghz router i had anyway.

    It'd still be an upgrade over my current router. AC would be nice.
