Newsgroup Direct - 2TB Usenet Blocks for $70

150

Usually $200. Looks quite hot to me!

"Happy March! We’re celebrating warmer weather with a sale on our 2 TB usenet blocks. Our 2 TB (2,200 gigabytes!) blocks are huge. They’re also the most cost-effective way to get in on our block usenet access. For the next few days we’re offering our 2 TB blocks for just $70. The normal price is $200 each, so it’s quite a savings."

  • What are some good nzb indexing sites these days? I used to use nzbmatrix before they were taken down, but haven't found anything remotely as good since then. Any ideas?

nzbmatrix is old school as hell. It has moved on a lot since then. The best in many opinions is Dog, it is what I use as my main, and have several others for that just in case coverage
Dog is USD $10 via bitcoin - https://dognzb.cr/bitcoin If you do not have a Bitcoin account, I can tell you it is worth the little hassle to set it up to get Dog.

Well worth it, I don't bother with Sickbeard or Couch potato etc…. I simply use the Dog's watchlist feature and what I want gets pushed automatically as soon as it becomes available.
I add what I want via IMDB, which is linked to the watchlist.

Others to look at, some will be closed to new regos at the moment.
      https://www.oznzb.com/ (Aus based)
https://nzb.cat/ different index base to most.
https://althub.co.za/ (I'm paid up there too)

usenet-crawler.com is fantastic. Better than NZBMatrix in my opinion.

        • usenet-crawler is brilliant for tv shows - not so good for movies.

      • I've recently got into dognzb and it is extremely good. I've also got oznzb, nzb.cat, pfmonkey, gingadaddy and a couple of others and they all have far too many spam entries; whereas with dognzb - I have not hit one yet. You do hit entries that are no longer available; but no spam entries so far.

I like the oznzb layout and rating system; but that does not help with Couchpotato still trying to download entries marke as spam.

I am seriously considering getting some bitcoin to pay for dognzb; but coinbase does not support Australian users yet. Who would you recommend as a reliable bitcoin exchange - I would prefer to pay by paypal or credit card to get my bitcoin.

      • Thanks Snuke. I set up a Coinbase account to try and donate the $10USD, but it says that I can't buy bitcoins in Australia. Do you know of any other way to buy Bitcoins to do this?

EDIT: Please disregard, just read the post above mine.

      • been using nzbgeek, Only a few shows from nat geo are hard to come by,
Other than that, Have got most of my d/ls completed and the few that dont, Put in the request forum and most have been for filled
They are $1 per month (6 month blocks) or $35 life time..
havent had 1 spam entry with them yet.. which is nice!

Wouldnt mind giving dogz a crack, tried getting bitcoins with out succsess, but will try again..

    • nzb.su

      • I no longer recommend them due to fee being in excess of service. I did not renew my yearly VIP sub.

  • How is this better than $8usd/mth unlimited via astraweb or $12AUD/mth unlimited on newsdemon ?

    • If you download less than 251GB per month, then this Block deal works out as better value than Astra monthly deal or 377GB per month for the Newsdemon deal.

    • I only download about 150GB a year off Usenet, so in the time it would take me to get through a 2TB block, I would have spent US$1280 on Astraweb. $70 is a bargain!

(That said, I don't need this, I bought a 1TB block 3 years ago and still have more than half of it left!)

  • Keep in mind that newsgroupdirect is a reseller of Highwinds and they don't have a good reputation over at Reddit.

    • Not great for those that do insane downloads, as is very possible in the US. I have been using them as my primary for over a year with Astra as my backup, so far never had an issue.

  • I'm going to have to blow $70 on this, I got scammed into signing up for a 1 year Supernews account with their so called 2000 day retention, everything's dead after year and a half.
If anyone comes across this post be aware of Supernews's misleading marketing.

edit- might be worth mentioning this was $65 a few weeks ago.

  • Looks like I missed out on the block deals, but after searching around I found this unlimited 12 month plan for $US75 https://www.newsgroupdirect.com/signup/billing.php?deal=C1Fb…

    Probably best for heavy users…
