  • nice price . great for a PC computer where you need the speed..

    • SSD's are for speed. These things are for storage.

BTW, they are back in stock and they just jacked the price to $181.53 US. Still not bad.

      • +1

It's still US$159.99 as of this writing if you buy from Amazon.

The default seller listed is not Amazon when the price is US$181.53.

However, if you click on the other sellers, you can see Amazon is still listed as $159.99 - still listed as out of stock though.

Doh - just purchased 4x4TB Toshiba locally.

    Bloody timing :)

just delete all the pr0n and presto! dont need one any more , ha ha

    • +9

Delete all the pr0ns? Would you get rid of your girlfriend just because she's taking up space? ;)

      • +4

Not if she pays her rent on time. :P

      • Would you get rid of your girlfriend just because she's taking up space? ;)

Depends where she's taking up space. Bedroom, kitchen - fine. Couch - no.

      • are you bragging about your skinny girlfriend again??

  • Any suggestion if this hard drive good for home basic NAS system?

    • I don't see it worse than other HDDs. But of course you should always back up important data.

    • +2

Except that generally I'd prefer a 5400rpm drive for NAS. Runs cooler than 7200rpm.

    • terrible.

  • +3

how is the toshiba RMA process for Aust? Can it be done locally like WD and seagate? or must it go back to the USofA

  • If ordering before stock in do they charge now or later?

    • Last sentence bolded text in this description which is a direct copy of the text from Amazon itself?

So yes, the $ may dip between now and when stock comes in so would increase the price.

  • +5

    I own 6 of these, I couldn't recommend a drive less.
If you thought "oh it's 2015, they've sorted hard drives being noisy at 7200rpm now!" you'd be wrong
"Oh it's 2015, there's no way 7200rpm disks still run hot as hell" you'd be EXTREMELY wrong.

Got 6 in Nov, 2 have already been replaced.
