Thanks for the warning. I guess I'll just do PayPal.

I was going to buy one but this comment just changed my mind. Thanks for sharing.

    Bought 2x3m for $7.92

Cheapest I can find on ebay is like $7 for 1 3m. Thanks OP.

    • Did you apply the code? It should be $7.12.

      • No I did not. It's still cheap though. Thanks!

  • +1

    These decent cables?

    • I have bought one from here before, it works and looks just like the one's that cost around $7.00-$10.00 from other places.

      • Thanks

I've bought several from BIC, and they're okay.

Of all the HDMI cables I have bought, from multiple suppliers, I have had only two or three fail. I cut them open, and found that all the wires are solid core, so not surprising they broke. All of the ones that broke were the really thin variety, where the cable diameter is about 4-5mm. All of my HDMI cables where the cord is as thick as a pencil, are still working.

Out of curiousity, I bought a thick HDMI cable during a recent sale, for about $3, and cut it open to see if the wires were any different. Nope, still solid core wires, but I'm guessing the thicker insulation prevents the cable from bending too sharply, and this protects the wires.

Anyone ever seen a HDMI cable with stranded wires instead of solid core?

      • I am actually looking for thin cables as I am passing through conduit, do u (or anyone) happen to know how thin these are? The thinner the better in a way for my application.

Edit: looking at the photo they look as thin as they come for a non flat cable (which would be wider anyway)

        • How many are you looking to fit in what-size conduit? Flat/ribbon should fit 3-4 easily… 5-6 if you're crafty.

        • @Utopian:I think it's 20mm at least, 3 would be all I need. The current cable in there is the aldi one which is quite thick and has a heavy nylon sheath, not expecting to fit even 2 of those

        • @Jackson:

After you've put the first few cables through, your biggest problem will be the size of the HDMI plug on the next cable you're trying to put through. A smaller connector would help a lot.

Perhaps buy HDMI-to-micro-HDMI cables instead, which are readily available at BIC, and then fit them with a micro-HDMI-to-HDMI adaptor, like this one:
          http://www.buyincoins.com/item/45259.html

Here's a typical 3m HDMI-to-micro-HDMI cable, and the description has a picture of the two plugs side-by-side for comparison:
          http://www.buyincoins.com/item/16845.html

Make sure you buy ones with micro connectors only, there are a lot of "mini" connectors too.

        • @Russ: He'd be lucky to get even 1 through, if it's round, sealed type (high-power etc). I was picturing square/rectantangle open-top type, like used in offices. Laying many in, and clicking the 'lid' on after.

Need more input, Jackson! Actual usage/position/place etc. Many of us have done this kind of thing semi-pro (some better than many pro's get-in-get-out jobs).

        • @Utopian: I only have a bluray, network media player and an xbox, and to be honest as I only use the bluray for iview I can probably get rid of that as I have a chromwmecast and the app now supports it. So 3 devices/cables max

        • @Russ: great some idea. I already picked up 3 cables so will use this as a fall back plan. Perfect

        • @Utopian: Yeah this is a pro installation in a way, I chased the rendered walls and put consuit in and rerendered during my renovations, have power and Ethernet for both the wall mounted TV and devices below, built a unit out of shelves for the TV unit as I wanted it low profile and drilled cable ports to take the cables under the shelf height. It looks all right except that with the devices so close to the outlets there are a lot of bundled cables. Thought about getting a cable box, thought about cutting them down but no solution is ideal. I think it may have even been 22mm conduit

I have one cable in there as mentioned, so no problem getting one through, but the cable for that one is very thick, these might allow the head to go through with a cable alongside

Just letting you all know that my 3 x 3m cables arrived today. They turned out perfect for my purpose, whereas the existing cable (Aldi 4m) struggled to go through on its own I got three of these through the conduit along with a stereo audio cable with room to spare.

The cable itself is thin enough to pose no issue, and as long as you stagger the plugs you could pull all 3 through at the same time.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

        • @Jackson:

          cables arrived today

Wow, that was quick, 10 days! Did you pay extra for fast delivery, or did you select free delivery and just get lucky?

        • +1

@Russ: free, I never pay for fast delivery!

Great price! thanks OP! been looking for these for a good price for ages.

  • What would be the difference to this one by Selby Acostics for $4.99 delivered ?

    http://www.selby.com.au/cables/hdmi-cables/high-speed-hdmi-c…

    • They'll both connect your device to your TV. Build quality might be different but they'll both work fine. Picture quality is not affected by the quality of HDMI cable BTW.

  • Does it support HDMI control?

    • +1

will do, if it's a HDMI cable - which it is :)

  • my bank blocked instant paypal transfer. 'security risk'.

  • awwwww shietttt….

Be aware. This seller usually sells very crapy goods. I have got caught several times. The motto of you get what you paid is so true here. I don't consider anything they sold is bargain. Take care guys.

    • +1

      What did you buy?

      • +3

Too many I have tried. Dodgy USB hub, USB 1 pretend USB 2; audio extension cable with very bad contact; button batteries that did not have sustaining current; recharge batteries that cannot hold for a couple weeks, and wrong size delivered. And more…

I was just about to enter credit card details on their payment page, and the page is not secured! No padlock, no https, no certificate, no nothing! So good luck to your credit card fraud prevention team!

    • Why enter payment details there, Go to Paypal.

    Thanks got 2

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Needed a 5m.

What a shockingly bad website; pages dont load, timing out, cart gets emptied
I'm pretty sure i've paid for these 2 HDMI cables 3 times now.

  • Got my 2 x 3m HDMI cables yesterday and noticed that they are quite thin compared to my other ones. This a issue???

  • Ordered 3 items but only received 2… When asking for them to resend to me they said they don't support resending items and is giving me a compensation, which i must say is less than what i paid for. I paid $10 but they're offering me $9 because the reason is i used the code above.. Doesn't make sense right??
Awesome deals but very very poor way to resolve issue.
