    Are these made in Kashyyyk?

      Laugh it up, fuzzball.

  • wonder if these can get cheaper!

    • aha, if you live in China you can grab a similar win/And one for $75USD.

  • Why is gravity in the list of features???

    • +4

I think it's gravity sensor or accelerometer

    • Because this deal draws you in

    • +4

If you drop it …the gravity feature activates. They need a zero gravity feature.that would be cool.

    • Their use of "gravity sensor support" might simply mean "accelerometer" or perhaps the virtual gravity sensor that was introduced in Android 2.3.

    • You hardly see people using the nokia button phones nowadays coz they don't have Gravity feature. Those phones all end up at the Moon.

Can anyone confirm whether this has gps? I've seen conflicting reports on various sites

    • +2

Even though the store rep says it has GPS in the comments on banggood, it is very unlikely to have GPS.

I like how they say "Note: Due to the insufficient protection offered by the original packaging of this product, we have made the decision
to replace it with our own foam packaging. Tablet screens are susceptible to damage during shipping, after
careful consideration and testing, we believe that foam offers the best protective coverage. Not only is this
packaging highly resistant, it is also very light, which allows us to keep shipping charges down and pass those
saving on to you." - meaning that there was NO ORIGINAL PACKAGING in the first place? What do you think?

    • I am inclined to agree

    • and no warranty… something that every tablet needs peeps…

Has anyone seen instruction for how to remove the Windows partition and extend the Android partition? I know Windows will be good for many, but I don't want or need it on an 8" tablet.

The Chinese site does claim it has the "WIN8 destructive dual system,". Then again, something may have been added in the translation…

So I'm guessing this is USB powered? So you can't get a USB to Ethernet cable and use it as a media centre, as it needs the USB for power.

These small tablets really are cutting off a big opportunity for themselves, they have a screen and manage to be significantly cheaper than similar "TV Boxes", but they stupidly don't have a separate power port to the USB, or just offer 2x USB ports so you can power them and hookup a USB hub, etc.

It's really disappointing the lack of uptake for Windows with Bing, realistically I want something like those little Zotac machines, but I keep missing the big sales they sometimes have on at Newegg (and Newegg's shipping policy/cost is terrible).

    • Have you tried Plex or ES File Explorer and connecting to a shared drive on your network?

Used this way you can easily use it as Media Centre.

Add a good bluetooth keyboard and mouse and then you can pretty much turn your TV into a fully functional computer.

Im keen to get this to just play with but Im all set up already and buying somehting you dont need is pretty counter-intuitive to Ozbargain ideals!

  • does using android have better battwry life than windows

This XDA-Dev post discusses how to root, install Xposed Framework and install Link2SD (to fix KK's crappy SD card restrictions).

  • So tempting… Do I buy this or use that money towards a better tablet… Hmmm… Got 2 days to decide…

    • +1

In my personal opinion, I think that sort of question depends on your personality a little and whether you are buying it to do something.
Would you ruminate about not getting the expensive tablet or are you going to be satisfied with this?
If you buy this and if it does everything you wanted it to do, it's likely that you wouldn't ruminate about the other choice.

      • Yeah, main reason is to read books but that could also do a bit more. Was after a Nexus 7 (2013 edition) but can't find anywhere that sell them at a reasonable price.

        • If you are looking at reading books, wouldn't you be better off with 4:3 ratio screen?
16:10 is alright, it doesn't fit the the papers perfectly though, 4:3 does it better.
Something like Xiaomi MiPad and Nexus 9? (or if you don't mind Apple products, iPads and iPad minis?)
Though I guess you cannot find those at this price range. :S

  • I have had this tablet for a while now. Everything is good but the front camera is awful (and the USB charging bit - I still haven't purchased a charger hub that will allow you to charge and use usb peripherals at the same time). Don't buy this for serious video chat - all other apps are fine.
