Obviously you have not tried the app.
First you place your steak on top of the app and from the footprint and weight it calculates thickness. Then you place your mobile device along side the steak so it gets the same amount of fire/heat. It calculates how hot the cooking is and therefore accurately calculates when to turn/remove
Only problem is you need to buy a new device after each use.

meat should be cooked by internal temp not time alone. a whole multitude of factors change the time it takes to cook meat.
True but don't agree that this is pointless. There are plenty of people out there who could improve their food with something simple like this. I've seen way too many steaks ruined by some guy with a beer who thinks they can cook a steak by colour. None of these guys could be bothered using a thermometer but an alarm in their pocket would make a big difference to what they pull off the BBQ.
I've got a couple of wireless Mavericks and 2 Thermapens that are used regularly but none of them have ever been in a steak.
It's all about practice and there are plenty of tools out there that will help. None of them are perfect and none can replace experience.

Aman, A suggestion - rather than giving the link to 'theperfectsteakstore' website you should provide link to AppStore. Also add more description about the app from the Appstore description mentioning the book and features of the app and why it is a bargain.
