Telstra Giving 6 Free Months of Presto to T-Box Owners

130

Just came across this deal - Seems any new or existing Telstra T-Box owner can get 6 months free streaming on Presto.

Also, Optus is offering similar deal with Netflix:

Pity Netflix is so much better than Presto. There is really no contest between the two.

  • Maybe if you give me a free T-Box too.

Presto is a scam with sd content.

    • the T-Box is a scam as well, so they're perfectly partnered

    • Telstra is a scam.

I like how they will only compete when they have to (like anything I guess). But I am happy to see Telstra and Foxtel be on the losing end. Not that I would use this but free streaming is still free. Im sure it will appeal to someone :)

All corporates agree that the price of something is not determined by the cost of production, it is what people are willing or coerced to pay.

Deal's ok, but Presto is rubbish. A really bad service - doesn't stream smoothly on NBN (25Ms) air remember your place when it crashes or even if you pause it.

Is this for forum? Price of T-Box on title otherwise!

  • I dont mind it if they give free tbox too.

They should target selling products through tbox not making money from equipment hire.

  • Free for 6 months no complaint here

Telstra broadband customers should check there account usage, got a nice surprise from Telstra last night, they double my usage from 100gb to 200gb for good at no cost, as a thank you for being a customer, apparently there's a promo running & there doubling the usage on a number of old plans, not sure if you change to a new plan if they will transfer the bonus to that to.. Pretty happy with bonus desperately needed it lol

    • No they won't transfer it, it's a 'loyalty' bonus, it's only being applied to existing customers on existing plans. If you change plans now, you'll be stuck with whatever data that plan is advertised with.

Source: I just phoned yesterday about this, because I thought I may get off the Everyday Connector and onto the Medium Bundle, hoping it would go up to 200gb (I don't need 500gb on my current plan)

      Also… they're*

      • Didn't think they would, would have done the same gone on the medium supreme bundle, not planning on changing unless the bundle plans get more usage, happy with the bonus gig on current plan though

        Also… who cares* :)

    • Do you have any info regarding this apparent double data promo for existing long term customers?

I'm on the M bundle with 100gb, be nice to get 200gb!!!

Hoping to get info or a source of info regarding the promo so I can use as ammo when I call them.

      • No don't have any links, I think it only applies to plans that aren't available anymore, Im on the "telstra everyday bundle" which they don't offer anymore, just jump on live chat ask about the promo , she was supposed to send me a link but great customer service I never received it, I don't get the point of doubling data on old plans that aren't available anymore but I'm not complaining lol, maybe there going to upgrade m/L/xl packages soon as there the ones that really need it..

  • Does presto give me AFL games?
