Looks like a good price. But saving up for a irobot

These machines are great for everyday use.

  • I can vouch for the quality of the vacumn, I especially like the small motorhead(?) attachment that comes with it.

  • Isn't it $390 with the 20% off? I got one a couple of months ago, it's the best thing I've ever bought! I have a Neato and I'm selling it.

  • thanks!! just ordered for pickup - $423.20 AUD

  • So exactly what's the difference between animal and normal Version?

Just the motor head attachment ? Or actual machine is different?

    • Just the motor head attachment that comes with the animal and cosmetic colour of the wand.

  • Thanks!!! I just ordered one as well…been waiting for ages to get one at a decent price.

  • I m trying to work out the difference too

    • As far as I can see it's the same motor just has a head for animal hair.

      • Just the motor head attachment that comes with the animal and cosmetic colour of the wand.

  • We've had a DC59 for a while and haven't used our plug in Dyson since. Battery life is good enough to whip around the whole house. We don't have any pets so didn't go for the 'animal' version.

  • is there any advantage of buying the dc59 animal over the standard dc59 if you don't have a pet?

    • If you need abit of additional suction I'd say go for it. It had another motor inside the head which pulls very well.

I believe they have the same motor. The animal has the extra mini motorised head that can come in useful for smaller areas (eg. car/tight spaces around the house).

If you have carpeted floors, I'd say the Animal version would be good for picking up hair, especially the (long) female variety

      • I agree with this. The small motorhead picks up hair so well that it makes me feel like I am going bald from all the hairs it picks up. Also, the small motorhead is more versatile on carpet as well.

  • dyson are trying to sell off their DC series for the new rebranded V6 series.

    • these do have V6 motors. Have they already got a replacement? DC59 hasn't been out too long.

    • Dyson just rebranded their DC59 to V6.

    • The DC59 is going to be the base V6 for around $300 apparently (April release) but loses some attachments at that price. Looks like there will be a couple of higher models.

  • Thanks Op, bought one, think the attachments will always come handy around the home and car, so buying cheaper by loosing some attachments is a no win solution.

  • Have procrastinated on one of these long enough now…..time to bite the bullet (gulp). Thanks OP & others

These were sold for $364 at Myer five months ago
    Https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/165754

    • If you count Mouths of Mums promotion they've ran as well, it was at $324.50. Though, I still think these are decent at this price as well.

      • finding this out was amazing…

    • That was a massive error by myer - don't think it will happen again.

Also for $389 from the Dyson website when they had the 40% discount last year

  • Thanks OP - have been holding off but will give it a whirl. Just hope the V6 launch doesn't bring the price of this down further.

  • Any idea if masters will price beat this?

    • nope, tried asking them to do a price match, but they said they can't, because this deal is available from ebay store which is technically a US company and not an Australian company!
