Optus: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB Preorder $85 P/M Unlimited Calls 6GB Data

900

Currently you can preorder the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB through Optus for $85pm on a 24 month plan which includes unlimited calls/text, 6gb data and up to 300 mins of international calls to selected countries. Currently the s6 edge 32GB has a RRP of $1149 so on this plan the handset works out to be $600! ($60pm on a SIM only plan so handset is $25 pm). I think its a nice saving for someone looking to purchase the S6 Edge on a plan.
Phone is available from April 10.

My friend finds it very useful for switching apps. It's like having a Windows taskbar on your phone - no need to scroll through a list of recently-opened apps with the multitasking button.

        • why not just have the most used apps on your home screen?

        • @striker5950: That's an extra step - imagine if on your Windows desktop you had to always minimize your current window just to open another program, instead of just clicking on it in your taskbar or shortcut bar.

It also forces you to use your default home screen for shortcuts. You won't be able to customize it with pretty widgets and wallpapers that can make your phone look nicer than a grid of icons.

        • @eug: wow imagine that! takes a lot of effort doesn't it lol, makes me exhausted just thinking about performing all those hard steps

        • @striker5950: Good. Glad you agree.

My phone arrived today 7.30am. All good! Works flawlessly.

Samsung S6 32gb Black, 6gb. Going to try and figure out the netflix thing now.

    • i got the exact same phone but with the 3gb, i think ill be able to change it to the 6gb later if i think 3gb is not enough its only $4 a month difference , I wish I ordered mine sooner, now I have to wait till Tuesday+, let us know how you go with the netflix setup.

      • I will contact Optus on Thursday if I have time. So far I found out you need to wait for Optus to send you a confirmation code in the mail. My Netflix free trial ends soon so i will have to cancel my subscription temporarily until Optus give me the code. lol.

Optus screwed me years when i wanted to up my plan. They said the handset repayment would be the same, although it wasn't when I wanted more data. It ended up being $10 a month extra (onto the upgrade plan amount - so $20 extra a month for 1gb extra), I complained and they had credited me $10 back a month, which was convenient because i early upgraded 3 months early and that $10 discount stayed for the full 24 months.
