Yeah I hear what you are saying, April Fool's Day is over, ya dimwit! OP, do you have one of these? When it turns on does the sound gradually increase in volume, over a couple of seconds, or does the sound start abruptly? I'm interested in using it with a timer, to drown out the garbage collection truck at 6am.
