no one from chadstone shops in target anyway.
    maybe except for JV.

    • Thery had "Dr Pete" (Dr Pepper) Sodastream flavour there a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunatly I didnt know it was only short term and didnt buy all of them.

  • +5

    Surely not iPads?

  • son of a…
I was just at Chadstone yesterday!

  • +7

Called the store all good electrical items gone, also known as all the crap is left

    • +3

Just rang. Nothing good left in electronics. All PS4/Xbox One are gone, as are Fitbits, iPads, and anything worthwhile.

Still might pick up a bargain on lesser items, however they aren't allowed to hold anything so first in best dressed I guess

      • +2

Home entertainment shelves virtually empty according to hassled sounding girl on phone.

      • +1

Staff would of bought it all, then straight on eBay

        • +1

Yep or the management send it on to another store.

  • +1

50% off from RRP. Was after a toy that is currently doing 20% off in their website. Would be the best deal if 50% of the current sale price. Too good to be true unfortunately.

    • +3

so its not a bargain because there is an extra 30% off? What did you do?

      • +6

        Call the ACCC !!!@1onesz!!

      • -1

omg! they gave me a bigger discount than I wanted … but it wasn't enough!! lolll

        1st world entitlement problems detected.

  • Anyone knows when this ends? Wonder if the store will remain open till at least Thursday (late night shopping)…

    • +1

The sign says April 19th, this coming Sunday

      • +1

        Cool, thanks BargainJunkie!

    • +7

Even if the store remains open… chances of you getting a decent item are very rare as the deal is on OzBargain now.

  • How about consoles?

    • +3

Yes but they are gone already. Probably snapped up by the staff is my guess.

      • +3

I doubt there were ever consoles. The whole section was packed up and replaced with other items when I got here.

There were some mobile phones though, all gone now.

      • +13

I got there about 10 minutes after the store opened. there were 4 Xbox one consoles, about 10 Ps3s, and 2 nintendo Ds2s. The staff had an hour before the store opened to shop themselves.

We were lucky and managed to pick up an xbox one for $250, a gopro hero3 white edition for $150, and super smash brothers on WiiU for $30.

There was one guy in there who bought 2 xboxes, he tried to buy all of them in one go but luckily the staff wouldn't let him.

I can say that there was MUCH MUCH less in stock than would normally be there. No boxed dvd sets, pretty much no blu rays, no games that were good (other than the one we got), very very limited to choose from.

they almost gave me a $100 chadstone gift card for half price, it actually went through the scanner with the discount. Another worker caught wind of it and called the higher ups, they said I couldn't get it (which I assumed would be the case) then like 4 people came out of nowhere and hurriedly moved away like 4 different gift card displays.

Sort of dodgy as the sign doesn't say that they aren't excluded, it says EVERYTHING in store. But I expected that it would be too good to be true.

        • +2

The yellow sign does mention gift cards not being valid in tiny text at the bottom.

Good deal on the Xbox One. Wish I could have got one. Oh well, maybe next time.

        • +1

          @BargainJunkie:

You know what.. I actually did read that, but not properly XD I somehow thought it said that you couldn't redeem them or like.. redeem them online or something which makes no sense.

My bad. I must have been too hyped up on my bargain hunting adrenaline that it didn't sink in.

        • As far as I could tell the registers weren't set up to apply an automatic 50% off.

The person had to manually enter the discount.

This is based on the fact that the guy that rung me up was pretty flustered from all the activity in the store and forgot to do it until I asked to recheck the price total.

Could have been it was a hit and miss thing with an automatic discount I don't know but it's quite possible to sneak a few things past if you get a cashier if they don't know (which is unlikely at this point).

And they had a lone big bang theory box set in the glass cabinet when I was there close to closing lol

  • +10

It is so freaking packed here. Everything of any decent bargain is gone. There's still some clothes to be had pretty cheap

Lining up for 45 mins to get a good deal on a 26cm Tefal grill pan, jacket and about 1 kilo of protein shakes + bars doesn't feel worth it.

    I don't even need them!

I'm in the checkout line right now which reaches around to the entrance.

    • Did you see any kids footwear or clothes?

      • Heaps still left.

        • Thanks..just thinking if driving their is worth…

        • +1

          @cniminc:

Tbh the prices for their clothes are about 30% more than at Kmart for the equivalent stuff. But I really don't know jack when it comes to kids clothes.

There's still a lot of cookware, cutlerey and that.

        • @c0balt: Thanks for live updates mate. I guess i'll skip it and try to be there tomorrow morning.

        • +2

          @cniminc:

My position in the line has progressed to the pillow section. On my way past the food processor area I noticed it was completely baron.

          Towels are almost gone.

I noticed a quilt I would have likes but there's no way I am leaving the line now.

There's still a lot of $7 dollar kettles left I can see. The whole shelf is still full of them. $3 for a kettle is a damn good deal.

Also all the AFL gear looks untouched - jerseys, jackets and other overpriced licenced stuff.

        • @c0balt:
That AFL thing is tempting man..but i never understand f**** overprice of these AFL stuffs…

        • +2

          @c0balt:

I find that Target products are generally of a higher quality in my experience, as well as having more of a stylish selection.

  • +19

My position in the line is now nearly at the toy section. It has taken over half an hour of lining up from womenswear to here. In 5 minutes I'll be able to see the registers and in about 20 minutes I'll have left this retchid land and be on my way for the $4 nuggets, chips and frozen coke deal at Hungry Jacks.

    • What did you score?

      • +7

        FREEDOM!!!

I'll post up a receipt when I'm eating my nuggets.

        • lol…Good one…

          @cniminc:
There no more HJ's at Chadston . The entire upper level food court has removed.

          I'm gutted.

Photo of my haul that I didn't even need, in front of a cheeseburger with free drink and chips (from ozbargain deal).

        • @c0balt: looks like you used a deal from the comment below ;)))

    • +3

Go for the Cheeseburger and free fries and Coke from Macca's, better value.

  • Is it 50% off Easter Eggs too ?

    • +1

      Yep.

  • Did anyone see any Thomas the Tank toys by chance? :)

  • Damn Lego half price

    • +1

No Lego man. I'd say it was all sent to another store. Uneasy in there about 3:30 and there was none. I'd say if there was anymore was Very limited and probably crap that doesn't sell Well.

  • +1

    Just got home…
Still heaps of shoes, makeup, jewellery, books, some toys (didn't see any Thomas), some home wares and clothes.
    Definitely no electrical.
Line to registers is an hour long but moving :)

    • Holy crap i'm glad I got in there before word spread, sounds like madness x_x

      • +1

How did everyone get there during work hours…

        • Who knows, I am a part time worker, was my day off. Kids are still on holidays so lots of parents probably have time off.

        • +1

          @Lunawinter:

Your lucky day :) But I thought school holidays are over…

        • @gokhanh: Oh, maybe I'm wrong.. there were a lot of kids around so I just assumed.

    • +1

      Thanks! Appreciate your reply. :)

  • +5

    brodens incoming, watch ebay :)

  • Valid on apple products?

    • There's probably none at this stage, but I'm guessing yes.

    • I came in like 5-10 minutes after opening. There was zero apple stuff there. There was maybe 1/5th of what you would find at a regular/fully stocked target.. if that.

  • -3

Get another store to price match :)

  • +1

Walked in the front door through to the back and saw there was a long queue all along the back wall. Couldn't understand why there was a queue there. Followed it into the corner where the electricals are/were and saw the queue wrap around the right hand wall and then back to the registers.

No phones left. Thomson (with or without the p, not sure which tin-tin) blue ray dvd players for $99/2=$50. Non-blue ray dvd player $12.50 after discount. Quite a few CDs. Open till 10 tonite. There is a dedicated register just for electronics which helps, especially if there is anything to buy.

    • +1

I thought they only open until 5:30pm?

  • A lot of the stafc had items held, some staff just got 3 wii u games and an amiibo out of nowhere.

Very empty and messy overall. Things opened, staff getting really stressed.

    • +7

Eh, I think it's fair that they get first dibs, they're the poor souls who have to deal with cranky customers all day.

  • +1

Is it more expensive to move the stock to a new store than it is to firesell everything?

I know when a Coles store moves location, all of their existing stock gets divided up and sent to every other store, and those stores have no choice but to accept it (and pay for it, same price as buying new). You would think the delivery costs of sending their stuff to every store in the state would be no more expensive than delivering it to their new store location which would only be nearby.

    • Their new store hasn't been built yet, they'd have nowhere to move it to! But yes, I do find it very odd that they didn't send it to other stores, especially for big ticket items.

      • +3

        nowhere to move it to

I'm pretty sure there's a few Targets in Australia

        • I heard they might have warehouses too

        • I know, I was responding to Lostn saying that they could just move it to their new location, which doesn't exist yet.

      • Wouldn't it make sense to continue trading in the old store until the a week or so before the new one opens?

        • I'm guessing the old store needed to be converted into something else, ready for the new tenant to move in about the same time as Targets new store would be open.

    • Maybe it just shows potentially how much their profit margins are. lol. I guess you can speculate that even at 50% it is still cheaper than getting the people together to move the items to another store.

  • Picked up Mario party 10 with amibo for $39.50.

A Telstra portable wifi thingy (I don't know much about them but I pretty much just got the most expensive one that sounded cool since it was half price).

And Hunger games mocking jay part 1 on blu ray for $12.50 (It was practically the only blu ray left)

Not bad. There were about ~10qty Mario parties left, a few different portable wifi things (I noticed it had expired too late but oh well) and a few cheapo phones, the kind you get at Target obviously.

They also had a few copies of xbox one games, think it was watchdogs (without a case) and a few copies of Destiny.

Of course they could all be gone by now I have no idea.

Also if you only want to pick up one or 2 items, you can skip the line by paying at the electronics section, just pick up something else for cheap that you'd normally pay for there and they can just scan everything through in one go. Some people literally had shopping carts completely filled with small knickknacks like stationary and such… that would have taken forever.

I'd say it's still worth going to take a look if you want bed linen, cosmetics, clothes or some of the non big name toys (like rc helicopters and stuff). They still had a few of the call of duty lego wannabe kits too.

Just basically stuff that when you think you want to buy, Target isn't the first name that pops into your head, stuff like that is probably still around.

Thanks to OP! I went there straight after I saw this post and got some awesome Fisher-Price items and a Steelcraft 4in1 portable cot (50% off so down to $90). Interesting enough most of the 50% off is actually not off their RRP but at their already discounted price. There is still quite a few 'Fisher-Price Spacesaver Jumperoo Rainforest Friends' left when I was on the way to the cashier and it is 50% from their current target online price of $127ish. Most of the good stuff are gone though, no baby car seats and almost nothing in the kitchen appliances section. Yes the line was very long but I think it was totally worth it. Very happy!

    • No worries :)

  • Are there lots of stockings left in the women's area? Regret not buying more from the last COTD sale.

    • +1

Quite a high chance there is some left. It seems people are more concentrated on toys, kitchenware, linen, entertainment stuff where most of the shelves are empty. Clothing areas looked pretty neat and not crowded at all when I went today.

  • buy 1 or 2 electronic things and line up in the electronic section. i bought a Huawei phone for $49 just to do so lol…I could probably use it for when i go overseas or use it as an in-car bluetooth mp3 player…idk. I saved more than i spent anyway + time.

Picked up an awesome richmond tigers infant onesie which i've been eyeing for months. They didn't have any infant Tigers bomber jackets though :(

  • Hey good homeware left?

    • when i got thre at 5pm yesterday, the whole place was hectic! but surprisingly not in an American way, people were just casually walking around, kids crying and everybody was very polite in the queue. Homewares in terms of plates, pots & pans, cutlery, lunchboxes, there are plenty there.

    • A few boxed dinner sets, coffee mugs, cutlery, utensils, some nice wooden cheeseboards. Basically mismatched odds and ends.

  • +1

Just came back from 4 hours shopping in the store and an hour queuing for the checkout! Lot's of men's clothing left- shorts, trousers, shirts. A fair amount of women's clothing and underwear. Not much left in children's clothing. Manchester, toys, electrical and entertainment are empty. LED globes half price (in the homewares section) are a bargain, not many people seem to have spotted them. Sodastream mixes are now $2, plenty of stock. Tip, get a friend to join the checkout queue while you shop!

  • For those wondering, I just looked in to it and Target is moving to where Hoyts was. With that said, I'm sure they have a storage area in the construction area set up for all their stock they didn't want to include in the 50% off sale.

Hoyts is going where Target was! The old chaddy switcheroo. Like how DJ's is where Myer was.

    • I was told the construction in the Hoyts area is running behind schedule, so Target won't be reopening at Chadstone for at least 3 months.

      • Geez that's a decent whack. I assume they'll be compensated. Maybe Chadstone said "have a 50% off sale, and we'll reimburse the lost 50% of whatever is sold"

      • +1

Not scheduled to re-open until August/September at this point.

  • Was there around 5pm last night, long queues but reckon was waiting 5 minutes max.

Was very tempted to get 2.1 channel bluetooth soundbars they had there. 100 down to 50. Few of those left.

  • Didn't find much left yesterday. Wasn't planning on going there but was in the area so took a look.

Found a copy of Tomodachi Life! For 3DS hiding on a shelf. Scanned up at $27.50 which seemed like a decent price. Also picked up the last New 3DS XL cradle in lack for $7. Wasn't really much else and the lines were crazy long.

  • Does anyone know if there is any Fisher-Price Spacesaver Jumperoo Rainforest Friends left? http://www.target.com.au/p/fisher-price-spacesaver-jumperoo-…
(I can't get there til Sunday so just curious)

  • Did anyone pop in to Target today? Wondering how it looked and if there were any bargains still left? Wanted to go but didn't make it.

  • +2

Went in again today because the doors were still open and I was curious.

They had about 2 racks of clothing and 1 display shelf.

The one of the clothing racks were everything 50c each, the other was $1 each. Shelf was 50c an item too.

It was kinda fun seeing a really huge empty store with only 2 racks and 1 shelf with 3 staff on the registers and a few more just standing around the door chatting.
