Thanks OP! but how can i signup to these deals?

  • +5

Is it sneaky enough the maccas staff not even heard of or not wanting to accept the voucher?

    • +1

Lol hopefully not – in my case, they happily accepted the last "sneaky deal" I posted.

      • +5

The last cheeseburger deal, the Maccas manager at sydney george street told me they charge $4 for a cheeseburger for those who use that coupon. I refused to purchase, just because of that.

        • +3

Wow – I hate when staff just make up impromptu laws. YMMV, I guess. McDonald's should be sending an alert to each store and staff member about these offers using their corporate intranet.

        • +4

          @itsfree:

I'm sure they would. They were pretty good with that when I worked. Sad you get these managers who think that they're directly losing money honouring a promo.

        • +2

@tomsco: McDonald's treats feedback very seriously I have found in the past. If a Cheeseburger was on the board for less than $4, I would raise it on the feedback form.

        • @Daabido:

Yeah that is why their MyMaccas app is so awesome and works…. And why a lot of us signed up to get the offers, but it sounds like one or two people do.

I sent feedback on the app back in January and got a response. But it is still broken, and no new release since last year.

        • +1

Yeah, same experience in Canberra, price of cheeseburger went up in order to use voucher.

        • @tomsco:

How does it actually work for a franchise with a promo like that? does the store owner just have to suck the cost difference or is it like some vouchers where head office reimburses them?

    • +2

I've seen the ad all over Facebook, but I haven't heard of it.

That being said I only work in kitchen.

      You'll be fine.

    • I presented the voucher on mobile (as a photo), manager said i have to visit the website in order for him to press the button or something (maybe he thinks he still work at hungry jacks), i thought to myself it is too much of a hassle to continue. They were a bit busy.

So i guess the word Sneaky on these deals are meant for the managers. Im not using any maccas voucher again, they are not the vouchers people like HJ. If there are any deals you can get out of Maccas, it would be all over their walls and menu boards.

  • So did it popup in the mymaccas app or what? I signed up for the deals via the app back with that $5 failure.

    • It was sent to me in an email - subject "All that stands between you and lunch is this email."

    • I didn't get the email either. I've also signed up to mymaccas.

  • +1

cant seem to open the file. Is it just my phone?

    • +1

No it is not just you. It has never really worked. Android or ios. I tried again this morning and same rubbish as last times I tried. And they haven't issued a new release. I can't find it on ios anymore either. They probably pulled it as it was not working and they couldn't be bothered.

EDIT: Ah, are you talking about the PDF attachment or the mymaccas app?

      • mymaccas app. I had it a long time ago but never download it again after getting a new phone. Ive got Andriod.

        • +4

It is not just your phone, the app is really badly designed. It uses a lot of your phone's RAM, and unless you have enough RAM, the app either crashes or goes into a never ending loop of downloading data.

  • +4

$7 is what it should be all the time…

The last cheeseburger deal was great, paid $2.75 for it!

    • +3

I did even better, manager come over and couldn't work out how to put it through the computer, but did the WHOLE meal for free, I didn't realize till it was too late :)

  • How much is the meals normally?

    • +2

      Around $9.50 in my area.

  • oh how i miss travelling around USA when our dollar was high and I could have gotten 20 nuggets for $10

  • +7

I just remembered how CRAP this app is. I deleted it after the $5 promo bombed, just re-installed it. Asks for log in - downloads a few meg, restarts, wants to log in again, downloads again, doesn't log in = endless loop of massive downloads and will not log in…….

    • +4

Thanks. How do you scroll down all the way to the bottom and click a tiny link "accidentally"?

  • +1

Couldn't open the pdf after downloading.

Never mind, it's stupid chrome on Android.

  • +3

The chicken nugget meal is cheaper at HJ's with this deal and the large frozen coke for just $4.
The Grand Angus medium meal voucher isn't too bad though.

  • +2

Worked fine, supervisor had to come over and show the checkout person that the deals are under the lunch menu in their POS

  • Worked fine, supervisor had to come over and show the checkout person that the deals are under the lunch menu in their POS

  • Doesn't work at any McDonald's in Parramatta Westfield. It is not on their systems at all. Denied.

    • I never buy from there anymore, they never honor any deals there, its always busy there so….

  • +3

Just went and got the Grand Angus deal. Staff had NFI what I was talking about and had to get the manager to put it through manually lol.

    • exactly the same here..

that's a decent sized burger when you fill it with the entire medium chips ;)

  • +2

Nice to see that maccas finally have affordable meal deals. The last time I ate from there was the free big macs.

    • +1

Two all beef, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun?

      • +2

Ah the 70's… So long ago… You missed the 4th word though (patties)… And after onions there was an "all" I recall.
"Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, all on a sesame seed bun"

        The crXX I remember… :)

I never did get a free Big Mac from it though as there weren't any near me. :(

        • +1

I reckon I got cricket posters, old school with Dennis Lillee, Chappell etc..

  • +3

That nugget deal seems a like a fizzer. Hungry Jacks have their 6 nuggets and small chips for $3.
Mcdonalds want $5 for same plus small drink.

    • +5

The only downside to that is you have to eat HJ's nuggets.

  • THIS WAS REALLY GOOD!

  • +1

Does not work at Vermont South (VIC) Maccas- they don't accept it, and they were pretty rude about it.

    • +3

report them via the mcdonalds.com.au contact

  • +5

Got the nuggets meal at lunch @ Town Hall maccas, the girl at the register asked for Manager before placing order.
And the manager asked me to delete my email before putting order through. =___=
So I deleted it, then moved email back to inbox while waiting for my food…

    • +8

same thing happened to me at town hall maccas. Only a fool thinks they can outsmart an ozbargainer.

  • +6

I went to Sydney George St Maccas today (near event cinemas) and the girl let me use it, but was like "you need to delete it from your phone". I was like "yeah okay", although I couldn't be bothered opening file explorer > downloads to find the PDF, but she really wanted to see me delete it, so I did.
Not that I can't just re-download it from ozbargain or anything. One step ahead of her. She just got OZBARGAINED! BOOM!

  • .accidentl dupe comment. ignore me!

  • +5

Unreal just how bad some of these stores behaviours are, and how self destructive that are becoming (bad sentiment travels fast)… I've always been a firm fan of Mcdonalds, but the last year, after a combination of behaviour like these offers that noone knows about (and only selected customer are told about, and selected staff aware of), the resentful in store response people get, their ABSOLUTE rubbish app, and the whole difficulty of trying to actually see an actual menu in store, or having to show people in store what a menu item is via your smartphone (like those family packs) I'm really starting to get pretty ticked off by them.

  • +3

Redeemed the Grand Angus meal without any hesitation or argument at McDonalds Myer Centre Adelaide.

Never had a Grand Angus before (traditionally way too much money for a maccas spend) but it was pretty damn good!

  • +1

Maccas Ballajura accepted it with little issue. The manager had to find it on their computer thing but that's it. No having delete or anything.

    • +1

Nice. The conditions above say once per day too, so asking you to delete it is more than a bit uncalled for.

  • you can get 6 nuggets and small fries for 3 dollars, and then a large frozen coke for a total of $4, also quite a deal

  • No facebook back up this time?

  • +1

A small 6pc mcnugget meal? what is this, a meal for ants?

  • tried using this voucher at Blacktown 3rd Av NSW around 6pm today but was declined. =(

  • +1

Got the Grand Angus Deal at Melbourne's Lonsdale Street Macca's. They honoured the deal and asked me to delete the coupon from my phone.

"Sure!" (then downloads it again LOL)

    Thanks for dinner OP!

    • "Limit of one per person per day"…

Can't understand the deletion insistence they seem to have…

  • +1

Got nuggets meal yesterday, store manager didn't ask me to delete the voucher.

But I got denied today, the store manager remembered me from yesterday. :(

This deal was so badly communicated across AU stores.

    • +1

Isn't it limit of 1 per person, per day??

This is advertised as a secret menu item not a coupon code, I don't see how asking you to delete the voucher or restricting you from using it an a different day is possible in these circumstances?

      • Yeah. I suggest anyone here denied trying to claim it the next day, or being asked to delete, zoom in down the bottom and show them the line where it says CLEARLY "Limit of one per person per day"

        • +1

I did show Terms & Conditions but it was too small to read on mobile device.

Store manager did not bother to read, and just denied it with excuses like

          • "You need to print it out" (it says "FLASH" the voucher)
          • "You redeemed yesterday" (it says "Limit of one per person per day")

I didn't argue with her, coz it was peak hour and people behind me were waiting.

Left the store with disappointment :(

  • +1

Had the nuggets meal again at different location (Warringah Mall) for dinner.
Little issue as the staff there seemed to be a lil clueless in how to enter it on system, but did not appear surprised to see the deal.
The manager ended up putting in as the 3 nugget happy meal on docket, and I only had to pay $4.75 (I did ask to make sure price is 'ok' and I was still getting the 6 nuggets).
Also ended up with large Coke & fries as well… must have been a slow Thursday night for them..
Very happy with my meal =P

  • Seems as though maccas stores have voucher phobia?

  • Worked fine at Wynyard Maccas. No issues.

  • +2

Just grabbed the nuggets from olympic park, Sydney. It took the entire team to figure out what it was but no issues. Y'all need better comms maccas hq :p

  • The Maccas under Myer Sydney CBD said they are not participating in the promotion…. wish I knew Wynyard accepted it, would have gone there

  • +1

Just used it for the angus at fortitude Valley qld and no problems at all.

  • +2

I got two using the same image on my I-phone at Maccas Robina foodcourt tonight with absolutely no dramas at all. First time I'd tried the Grand Angus…it's huge! It was tasty too. Thanks itsfree!

    • +2

      You're welcome! :)

      • +1

Yes, thanks itsfree. I hope you weren't unsubscribed above…. Seeing no one else who signed up for the offers got emailed.

No issues at Windsor and Albion in Brisbane. Windsor found on computer, Albion did it manually.

        • +1

          Glad it worked for you!

I think I was unsubscribed. So pissed. >:(

        • +1

          @itsfree:

          Ugh. That sucks.

  • I tried this at McDonalds St Kilda, specifically went there when picking up wife from work (she got off at the tram stop there and met me). Manager said that they would not honour it and I had to use it at a McDonalds with a participating ABN. What a load of crap. We go to this restaurant at least once a month when nothing else is open at 1 am after her work on weekends.

The one I got was a message on facebook saying 'check your email for details' after liking the facebook page.
I noticed when reading the email at home at it says 'participating' restaurants only. Shouldn't Macca's have to provide a list of those who are opting in or not? Who wants to ring around the city and drive 20km past 2 or 3 Macca's because some do/don't participate in these?

Vouchers like this work by McDonalds (in most cases) using a % of the marketing fees that franchisees pay and paying the difference back to stores.

In this case, my wife and I were expecting to pay $14 for two angus meals (one per person, per day) and a Sundae+thickshake for their normal cost.

Should I ring their customer service line?
I actually own a franchise small business and can't believe that Maccas would go this low over a national promotion voucher.

    • +1

      You should definitely complain

  • No deal last night manager said this is a scam. Good thing I only go their once a yeah terrible service.

    • +1

A scam? I would complain about that.

      • +1

Spent $60 on their putrid excuse for food as well.

  • worked at south melbourne, just asked to see voucher at drive through.

  • hungry jacks has 6 nuggets and fries for $3, frozen coke is a dollar , so total is $4, $1 cheaper than Maccas.

    • They're also delivered in a disgustingly post-deep fry oil.

      • aren't maccas ones fried?
